but after using it, it still needs some work.

i'd like to see the support of watching directories not inside rominator.

I've just upped a new version (1.0.2) that has plenty of fixes as well as support for your own directories!

Get it at the start of this thread.

I love you Hank Hill

It's Hank CHILL.

Hank Hill is just a lowly rip-off of Hank Chill, minus the letter 'C'

Enjoy!

Regards.

EDIT: Just to let the current users know, I found a bug in the program when importing specific games (well, only 2 of them actually), so that will be fixed shortly.

Also, the next update will contain program update checking so whenever I release an update, you'll be notified when you run the program.

So...it would be much more useful if my saves still worked after I trimmed the files without having to manually rename them. Personally I feel it would be much nicer to have a preference that would allow you to *not* rename the ROMs, or to rename the corresponding .SAV files accordingly. Some people like to use the 'official' names from the (advanscene.com DATs), with ROM #'s and all, while I'm sure others appreciated the shorter filenames your program generates. Let's have a choice!

In my next release shortly, there will be an option to rename, or not rename, the files.

By the way, Hank - what are your thoughts on what this guys says regarding "safe" & "un-safe" trimming methods? Do you use similar safeguards to preserve the 4 + 184 bytes for WFC data that supposedly is written *past* the header specified rom size?

I was unaware of the extra 188 bytes of data that could be vital to download play.

I'll add an option to 'Safe Trim' for the release.

Regards.

To the people who use this:
I've updated to 1.0.3.

Several drastic changes include:
• Redesign of the layout
• Details now shown in the main window
• "Safe Trimming" Option
• Option to rename the game upon importing
• Bug fixes here and there

Feedback is always appreciated

Appreciate the added func! Love the UI changes.

Time for an OS X (Intel) error report:

Get "There was an error initializing the program. Make sure that Rominator us not on a write protected volume."

Then, after clicking OK and starting the program and clicking on Settings button generates "An exception of class NilObjectException was not handled. The application must be shut down."

yup same error even with the new version. Nice improvement on the GUI though

"There was an error initializing the program. Make sure that Rominator us not on a write protected volume.", this can be resolved by changing the permission of the folder. Make it read write to all.

I get an error when I open up the program, then when I click settings I get another error that says the program has to close.

It's really strange how you guys keep getting errors. I've tested on multiple machines and have never had these issues.

I'll look into it again, and it just may be a permissions issue, as it only needs to access from within the Data folder (Unless Specified). I might just either make an installer to create the folders, or I might have it store the data inside the Preferences Folder.

What's happening is that when you first run the program, it creates the settings files within the Data folder. It's obviously having a hard time doing so with some of you guys.

I'll see what I can do.

-Regards
