Looks like they released it its v1.2.1

There's been a regression, which needs to be fixed, I believe it's a nightly build of 7/14/15 or something, I dunno lol. Has anyone tested it?

I had a very quick go on 1.2, first thing that pops up is something about detecting controller and inputs (I was using a Gamecube controller) but it didn't seem to work because the only inputs that worked was up on the D-Pad and the A button. Made it a pain to try and do anything else so I switched back to the 1.0.0.2 version I had set up.

I'll be very interested to see what other people make of it though.

Report to the official forums, you likely won't get help here.

Sure that there are no RA cores inplemented?
You would'nt believe how many of these Rip off emulators actually using RA code.
Ever heard of the Retron 5 Multi system? Look it up, the sytem is based on emulation, using Retroarch core.
The company that makes these consoles is in a heap of trouble.
Same for the android apps popping up, alot of violation.

Originally, yes, but they have since changed their code after being called out on it, or so I've read.

Retroarch 1.2.1 doesn't work on my vwii (black screen). Any idea how to fix it?

Report it on that thread I posted above. Did you delete all the old config files before you loaded it up? It's a very common thing for it to conflict if they haven't been deleted prior to launching. Twinaphex, one of the programmers, has confirmed it running properly.

Edit: Here http://libretro.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2234

Edit 2: The "regression" was a false alarm.

That's a huge relief! Their own code runs very well, even the Snes emulator, since its the youngest.

As of now, NONE of the cores in the latest Retroarch 1.2.1 work.
Black screen and hang upon loading any rom in any core.

EDIT:, yup, it's broken allright!
It has been since about 4 nighties back.
Hopefully they will come with an updated release soon.

Am i the only person that has this thing working at 100%, some roms may have problems, but most of the time, almost everyone can run, and even at a good speed, and i don't have the issue of the cores either, so, am i the chosen one?

Works fine for me here, tried booting a couple of snes games and a gba game with no issues. tried loading a Cps2 game but it stuck at a black screen (only waited for about 15 secs tho) make sure you delete your Retroarch folder in the root of your device before updating just to be safe.

(vWii BTW)

Forget the Wii... what about other hardware, what about the Lakka project?!?! :)

http://www.lakka.tv/

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

On a side note, their is effort being put in to bring over Dolphin and PS2 support to future version of RetroArch, as well as a built in tools to tell you the system requirements of each emulator.

Back to 7/12 nightly build.
Working 100% except for the input lag/ sticking button bug.

to ole, are you sure you are running 1.2.1 of retroarch?
NOT 1..0.0.2.?
Mind telling witch cores work?

I've been beta testing since last year march or so.
there;s defenitely something wrong with the nestopia core, neogeo pocket, missing cave story files etc.

There has always been 'bad mojo"on RC and initial releses of RA....

Both vWii and Wii build i've tested are broken. There's even missing assets.( cave story ) Find and path them manually can be a pain...
So it's very awkward you are having no problems.
nestopia, neogeo pocket, cave story, are broken.

did you try All FBA games + NEOGEO, CPS1&2, cores?
It seems FBA and its separate cores, is the least affected.

Im running 1.2.1 from stable.
The core is Snes9x NEXT, tested with multiple games and crashes.
With regular Snes9x it load, but I havent found out how to rewind.

Weird, i tried all the 3 nes cores, and they work perfectly, no problem at all with arcade games aswell, only Sonic Advance on the VBA next core was giving me problems, but, nothing really bad actually.

I did test VB and it black screened when booted Metroid Zero Mission. My Retrarch config folder was clean.
Loading bug has been found.
Loading content from USB is broken in stable 1.2.1 and latest nightly since 7/12.

If you want to get a taste of the improvements please try loading your roms from sd card.
I can confirm the sticky button bug has been fixed! ( huray!!)
Also enabling hard Gpu sinc makes sure you will have the MOST SNAPPY FRAME PERFECT INPUT!
Input lag is GONE!
Tested this in a speedrun of Rockman 2, and the difference was like night and day.

Hopefully they will fix the USB loading soon, can't wait.

So it wasn't a libogc bug after all but a bug in Retroarch (as suspected).

GPU hard sync is only for OPEN GL driver, it has no effect on Wii

The RetroN 5 still uses RetroArch cores.
The only code changes they made was regressing the Genesis Plus GX core to a older version that complied with GPLv2 and released their modified source code for the emulators they used.
Though the RetroN 5 is still Tivoized and still ignores the "none commercial use" for Snes9x-Next and Genesis Plus GX.
AKA, the RetroN5 is still stealing other emulators and Hyperkin is playing dumb about the whole situation.

Why am I not surprised? What a bunch of douches.
