I don't know, I would need to restart my WiiU to check that, I am still on that screen I took a photo of. I wanted to know if I had any choice before doing that while it was stuck like this to try to prevent any possible data loss.

The only way is to force shutdown (don't shutdown by unplugging the Wii U). Since the crash was after reading in the nand side and after it finished writing in the sd side the chance of data loss is extremely low (based on my experience I would say there is no chance of data loss but I won't say that since things can happen.)

So, I was testing some things, and it appears to be Mario Kart 8 that is the problem. SaveMii Mod5 indicates that I have 51 titles installed on my WiiU, and other than two uninitialized ones, I can backup all of them except for Mario Kart 8. It always freezes attempting to backup MK8, but has no issue with any other title whether it's internal or USB, physical disk or digital.

Yes I've been testing and seems it's a problem with long filenames (Mario Kart has some very long filenames). I'm going to increase the buffer size, do some more testing and then try to release a fix.

Have you used ftpiiu_everywhere? If yes, can you go to the path "/storage_mlc/usr/save/00050000/1010ec00/user/80000004" ("/storage_mlc/usr/save/00050000/1010ec00/user/common" too) and search for the file with the longest name (you can search on google for "online character counter" and paste the filename there.) most likely it is the file below gs01110a0000150f0120520702b18c0292ab0281b893b3e793b3e7004300790062006500720041006b0075006d00613100000093b3e793b3e7.dat, then tell me how long the longest filename is.

Sorry that took a while.

Not counting "userdata.dat", there seem to be several files that are 118 characters, and 6 of them that are 174... counting the extensions.

Here are the contents of that folder:

Does the Savemii 1.2.0.mod5 fix the problem with Breath of the Wild saves? The unmodded version would back up saves fine, but injecting a backed up save resulted in problems with the autosave and even more with Master Mode.

I too get a blank screen when launching this. Could it be with only recently HB'd/modded consoles? I only have been modded since 5.5.2 and use the BrainAge/Haxchi (non-cold boot). Was originally on HBB 1.3 and even tried 1.4 (if it makes a diff).

Running on 5.5.2. Get a black screen on launch as others have reported. Anyone know if there's a way to use this utility when this happens?

Haven't been able to replicate the bug.

@Cyber Akuma
Try this version. Increased string buffers and removed some string manipulation.

Sorry, didn't see your reply until today.

I just tried the app again, both a manual backup and a batch one, both worked (Although the speed seemed to be a lot slower this time, but that might just be a placebo effect).

I also backed up the MK8 folder through ftpuii_everywhere and created a MD5 check of the files I got from the FTP, and then ran that same MD5 check against the save data from both the manual and batch backup, and it matched. So it seems to be working now, though I haven't tried a restore yet.

Someone please write up a simple tutorial for dumbasses like me.
I literally only want to import a game_data.sav for BotW, but my extreme retardation prevents me from doing so.

No matter what I do I can't this to launch properly with my external USB connected. It just sits at a black screen after the initial splash screen. It does so whether or not I use haxchi or mocha.

@GabyPCgeeK I need your help in this one, I injected some games time ago and then I delete them from the Wii U -> System Settings -> Data Management.
The specific game is DuckTales 2
IMG_20170922_145619583 (Copy).jpg

Notice that I actually have two saves for two games I apparently deleted from Data Management (they don't show up there)

I used SaveMii to see if I could wipe them for good
IMG_20170922_145636595 (Copy).jpg

I wipe it, are you sure? YES!, are you really REALLY sure? YES!!. It appered a black screen showing the path to the save in white text (it was like a flash so couldn't read much more).

I though that I got rid off the save, but then I open SaveMii again and the save still there

Is the wipe feature enabled? Is there another way to get rid off this save without screwing other things?

Though asking you first before manually try to delete the save with ftpiiu.

Regards.

Well, I used both the latest Github version and this release

to try and inject my Wii save of Paper Mario into the Wii U's superior emulator. The backup worked just fine sometimes, other times not. The restore after injecting my save into the Wii U VC's directory never worked. I ended up just taking the backup and using FTPiiUEverywhere to inject it. (And I really don't like exposing critical system files to network edits...)

I'm trying to run SaveMii so I can edit my BotW save file. I run Haxchi through my DS software, which then opens the Homebrew Launch Channel. I click and load SaveMii and I get a black screen. Can anyone help me out?
