It's only for A9LH now, you should just use the cia version if you have it. (assuming you're on 11.3)
If you're on 11.2, follow this guide https://3ds.guide/ you won't be disappointed.

It can't be updated until there's an exploit for 11.3. There is no exploit for 11.3. Therefore, you're SOL for now.

It acts like a regular game. Im not sure what you're trying to say exactly, but you tell me. It takes 2 seconds to test, and i use an older fork of a9lh without shadownand so me testing this is impossible.

If i were you, i would completely ignore this. As of late, cfw installation has been extremely simplified, to the point where bricking is pretty much impossible. Head over to 3ds.guide and follow the installation process exactly. This should hook you up to be able to install any cia instantly, without even needing to launch the hbl. Just make sure you dont follow a video tutorial, as all of them are outdated, even if you think they arent.

Setting up CFW is pretty easy nowadays, and it is a far better option for most.
