After various leaks of the ugopwn exploit, I was finally able to downgrade my DSi to 1.4U and install Sudokuhax and 4swordshax. I made a simple script to make downgrading to 1.4U easier.

Note: EUR and JPN support has been added, but ugopwn does not work with EUR and JPN consoles. The only way to accomplish this on a EUR or JPN without existing exploits is to hardmod.

As such, EUR and JPN versions are UNTESTED! If you have a hardmoded EUR or JPN system and would like to test this out, please report back your results!

I'm also assuming you already know how to decrypt, mount, and re-encrypt your NAND. This guide does not cover that, however I'll help you out with it here or over PM if you need.

How To Use:

  1. Download DSi Downgrader (see bottom of thread)
  2. Download NUSDownload v19
  3. Obtain the DSi Common Key, also known as dsikey.bin
  4. Open NUSDownloader and download the titles listed below for your region. Please note that, as previously stated, EUR and JPN versions are untested.
  5. Copy the "titles" folder from the NUSDownloader folder to the same directory as DSi_Downgrader_XXX.bat (or copy the DSi_Downgrader_XXX.bat file into the same directory as NUSDownloader's titles folder).
  6. Mount your decrypted NAND with OSFMount
  7. Start DSi_Downgrader_XXX.bat (XXX being your console's region) and enter the drive letter of your mounted NAND
  8. The program will let you know when it's finished
  9. You can now unmount your NAND and test it in No$Cash (after adding the footer of course). Go to System Settings and check to see if you're now running 1.4!
Please note, the downgrader MUST be ran from your C: drive (preferably in the User folder, so special permissions aren't needed), or shit goes totally wrong! ( Thanks @CatmanFan )

Removing The 3DS Transfer Tool:
  1. Mount your decrypted NAND with OSFMount
  2. Start 3DSTransferToolRemover_XXX.bat (XXX being your console's region)
  3. Enter your decrypted NAND's driver letter and press enter
  4. Done!

One more thing: does the downgrader work with hardmodded DSi consoles without Flipnote?
As long as you can obtain your CID and ConsoleID, dump your NAND, and restore it, yes. Flipnote is only used to launch fwTool (which is for dumping CID and dumping and restoring NAND backups).

@dpad_5678 When are you going to add EUR/JPN support? I have a EUR console if that helps.
There's still people trying to downgrade on other region consoles. ugopwn is most likely going to get a eur/jpn release in the future anyway.
EUR and JPN versions have been added.

Well, in step

  1. Mount your decrypted NAND with OSFMount
You need to specify/describe better the partition . By having a look at the cmd file my guess is Partition 0 by all means

I briefly touched on mounting the NAND, simply because anyone who has enough experience to downgrade should have already seen other guides.

I could really not care if even I or others have read guides, nor going to assume everything I code is going to be understood, if you are dealing with raw nand, you need to specify at least a safe context based from your own experience, unless you want to purposely brick devices.

"Well now we are going to replace some files so your Partition will be: 0 DOS3.31 + FAT".
