Rinnegatamante doesnt give a shit about the homebrew scene anymore and CHMM2 is a buggy unfinished piece of shit.
This is why...ungrateful pieces of **** like you.

Everything he does is in his free time and for free. Be happy he released anything in the first place. He doesnt owe the "scene" anything

Rinnegatamante quit because he threw a hissy fit over incredibly minor stuff (he blew up over for example someone suggesting he renamed a mention in the LPP-3DS docs of LUA to lua since the official notation is lua) and because people disagreed with him using adfly on his projects (adfly is like shady sites 101). His final cause of him leaving the scene is because someone made another DSP Dumper that was open source and included a minor dig at Rinne using adfly. I'm very sorry but Rinne's BS is unrelated to the current things the scene is plagued by, since it happened a couple years ago and is of an entirely different brand of drama than the shit that you could claim against the current scene.

And for the record, he still does this kind of behavior. Check his twitter account, he just moved on to the Vita scene.

CHMM2 always was a buggy unfinished mess I only barely got working. It's just that up until about a year ago there was no real alternative since nobody cared enough. Then Erman made Themely, Themely went closed source, astro released Annemone and now Annemone is recommended.

Saying "he doesnt owe the scene anything" is correct, but I feel it is entirely unrelated to what I am saying, which is that CHMM2 is and always has been a buggy unfinished mess. It's true that I consider the developer a shithead for several reasons, but I'm not shitting on him for releasing unfinished software (since I feel that would be hypocritical). I'm shitting on his buggy software that by todays standards is hilariously outdated.

Calling it a piece of shit is wrong though, I'll admit that much. It is a stoned out turd, left as a relic for archeologists to wonder about. Your argument for using CHMM2 in this day and age is like saying you still use MSET because you think the developer of MSET put so much effort into it and you dont feel that should go to waste.

Does Anenome have the console specific themes like CHMM2 supported? That's what I'm looking for, presently.
Anemone supports any theme released for the 3DS on either themeplaza.eu (recommended) or 3dsthem.es (not recommended since the developer is a shithead) or themes developed by yourself. It has QR downloading support, which is better than CHMM2's integration with the API since the API has been broken for a long time now and isn't dependant on a specific site.

Hey, I've installed the zip to the '3ds' folder in the root of the sd card. However, whenever I try to open it, it just takes me to a blank screen and then the homebrew launcher. Any help?

I prefer to add all my themes to Howling Theme Tool, and just use the built-in theme manager of the 3DS.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Some themes refuse to install with Themely, however. Not sure why.
They are likely out of spec.

LLMs can be run on cpu anyway but it's quite slow

Have you ever been beaten by a wet spaghetti noodle by your girlfriend because she has a twin sister, and you got confused and fucked her dad?
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I had a girlfriend who had a twin sister and they would mess with me constantly.... Until one chipped a tooth then finally I could tell them apart.... Lol

They would have the same hair style the same clothes everything... Really messed with my head lol

@The Real Jdbye, I could see AMD trying to pull off the CPU GPU tandem thing, would be a way to maybe close the gap a bit with Nvidia. Plus it would kinda put Nvidia at a future disadvantage since Nvidia can't make X86/64 CPUs? Intel and AMD licensing issues... I wonder how much that has held back innovation.
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
i don't think nvidia wants to get in the x64 cpu market anyways
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
you've seen how much intel is struggling getting into the gpu market
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
and nvidia is already doing ARM
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
i don't think they want to take more focus away from their gpus

Yeah I think Nvidia s future lays in AI GPU acceleration stuff if they can get that going it's going to be super interesting in the long term

AI assisted game creation might become a thing

At least that's something I think would be pretty cool.

Many TBs of assets and the programming of something like that is going to be tough but I think it's something we might see in 20 years maybe sooner
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
@Psionic Roshambo AI assisted game creation is kinda already here, there was recently that AI that can turn any 2D image into a fully modeled 3D object, it's not perfect, but it's a starting point, beats starting from zero

  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
before that there was one to generate a fully modeled scene from a 2D image

  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
but most recently, there was one that actually generates a working unity scene with terrain and textures already set up that you can import right into unity, that's a huge time saver right there

and using LLMs to generate NPC dialogue and even dynamically generated quests is something i'm sure is already happening
