Hacking R4i Gold Revolution for DS Help needed.

I have an original DS that I used to play, and recently received an R4i card for it my wife had when she had one. Here's the problem, Ive been trying to get it to load and open the cart and it wont. I've placed the wood 1.62 firmware on it, and even the wood 1.59 kernel, however, once I click on the icon (deep labyrinth digital bros) it gets stuck on a black loading screen and wont even go to where I can select the micro sd card. Any suggestions?

Have you tried downloading the kernel from the site metioned on the card?
