Hacking [Question] Is it possible to switch from gateway 4.0b to regular a9lh?

I don't like being required to use the gateway card and then be blocked from using retail carts while booting, it just doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me, and I set up a friends 3ds to a9lh and I found it just to be a much nicer experience.

So, is it possible to actually switch over easily? I'd prefer not being constrained with gateway so much.

Yes, just backup your SD, go to Sysnand, then go to the homebrew menu and launch emunand9. Format the sd (No Emunand). Unmount the sd and drag all the files back onto it. Delete all the gateway files (Launcher.dat and others.)

I assume you need to uninstall the GW exploit first with a NAND backup then just follow the guide as normal.

ahh that's what I was thinking. Which is just unfortunate, I was hoping it'd be simpler.

While I do recommend using another fork (since other forks still let you use GW), you can boot classic mode to play retail carts.

Retail cards work automatically in GW mode as of ages ago. It auto changes to classic mode when inserted only GBA and nds is broken.
