Ok, so as most of you guys know, the vita files are huge,

doing it via FTP would give you like 1MB/s and that takes forever.

Regular Vita Backups via CMA/qCMA saves 4gigs in less than a minute, of course via USB3.0

I read somewhere that one can simply rename the vpk to an mp4 and transfer that back to the Vita via CMA/qCMA

and from VitaShell, rename it back and move to your Homebrew folder and install as usual.

Let me know your thoughts?

WE HAVE 2 Known Solutions! Thanks for all the Inputs!

Hey People....
Simple Solution.

Using QCMA of course.

1. You will need a SaveData from PSP Game. ( Dont need to be your own, you can use from another console).

2. Put this savedata into your folder
PS Vita\PSAVEDATA\xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

In my case i used King of pool.
PS Vita\PSAVEDATA\xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx\NPUH10053

I have 2 PSvita, one linked to my PSN PLUS account and another one with another simple account.

3. So put your vkp into a folder. You can create a folder inside your savedata.
In my case i create a folder
PS Vita\PSAVEDATA\xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx\NPUH10053\vpk

And I put 2 games inside ( 3Gib total ).

4. IN QCMA refrest database

5. Open content manager in vita and transfer the Savedata.

In Molecule go to :
ux0 : Pspemu/PSP/SAVEDATA

Find your savedata, inside you will see your file.

It's best solution, because you can transfer a lot of files, like .bin, or small one etc.

It will help you to install games faster, because you dont need to install entire game, just the ico to live area so you can copy heave part of the game.

Share this solution, because was hard to make this work.

Yep, renaming to .mp4 and transferring with QCMA is precisely how I do it.

I wonder if VitaShell will support zip archives in the same manner as PSPFiler did on TN-V, then we could transfer multiple at one time and unzip it in ux0: :D

We must share this. A lot of people are using .mp4 solution but its more easy.

I wanna say this tutorial was not my original idea. I got help from reddit users.

I wanna say too. Dont use vhbl savedata wont work. And maybe some psp savedata won't work too. So dont give up if dont for you. Try different savedata with range 100kb to 500kb max.

do you have sauce?

if that's the case we can do a very quick installation of games via usb
(vpk must be converted to pkg first)

Nice!!! How heavy its? Kb or mb?

When i read about this. I already tried by myself to do something like that. But the only save i had was vhbl save with 1.8mb becouse its from my vhbl bubble.

So after trying so hard without success i decide to use my king of pool save. I used to use this for old psp kernel exploit.

So i think some savedata won't work. Or maybe my own was buggy. Don't know.

Well it's best solution i found so far. Because i don't install the full vpk. I extract the heavy files. Zip the necessary live area foles and install only the live area launch. So i copy the game files and with molecule transfer to installed folder game. With mp4 solution that was not possible

If i transfer the full vpk and install it. Will take 2 time when i just need to make one transfer to complete the game.

There is a close solution for this matter.

I explained it minutes ago, but i'll do again more clear.

I download a game. For example.
uncharted golden abyss ( I know its not working yet, but just example ).

I rename "uncharted golden abyss.vpk" to "uncharted golden abyss.zip"

Unzip it and find the file "gamedata.bin" its has around 2.9Gib.

So i zip again (need to be .zip) but without this file. And i'll have uncharted golden abyss.zip and rename back to .vpk

Place the .vpk and the .bin file for transfer.

It will transfer both file. So just need to install the .vpk that will install fast becouse there is no big file inside. So just move with molecule the big file .bin to the game installed folder.

And will work ( in this case will not work because uncharted are not working yet with this current Vitamin version ). But i tried this with Assassins Creed L. And works, i didnt use it with example becouse its has a lot of files. But work same way.

THIS IS AMAZING! THANK YOU! So all I'll have to do is continiously delete this save data from my system and re-copy it over with new data everytime i wanna install vpk's? WOW this works so much better than ftp!!!

the tnv savedata is around 32mb
transfer using qcma (rename file to 6-8 characters eg: ROGUE.VPK) (refresh database on qcma before transfer)
i only tried 100mb vpk only, will try transferring 1gb+ vpk sometime after finished downloading
but i do think its no problem cuz i always transfer big psp iso files this way

Yes. I was using the .mp4 method butbwas so limited and i need to rename files etc.

And yes you need to delete your psvita savedara before copying again or will show a error msg. So before copying new stuff just delete the savedata you can do that in manage content.

And remember its only work with QCMA. Will not with CMA i think.

I dont think size matter. I transferred 2.9Gib from uncharted.bin.

This characters limitation scary me. I didn't test it. I hope its not so limited. Because will make sad.

Nope. You just need to delete the entry. You can move or delete the content with molecule before delete the savedata.

I delete the savedata with content manager becouse if i try to copy even if give me the option to overwrite its will say a error. But if i delete it first will copy with no problem. But you dont need to keep vpk file inside to delete entry of savedata

Just tested this going from my Vita to PC, as I just dumped my original Ninja Gaiden 2 cart (2.49GB), created a VPK folder (might not matter, as the just the file would do) moved the dumped VPK file to VPK folder and then to one of my PSP save folders. Transferred fine in literately a few minutes to my PC via QCMA.

One thing that just occurred to me.... The sound on the 2600 sucked less back then the harsh sound we hear now is from infinitely better speakers we have now, back when the 2600 was new speakers produced a almost muffled sound, like CRTs made old graphics look slightly better.

I wonder if I could recommend that to some emulation devs that perhaps the sound could use some smoothing out to simulate those old TVs

I think a few of the early systems could benefit from that, at least up to the 8 bit generation, by the 16 bit generation I think TVs had gotten a lot better in almost every way
