Homebrew Question about NesDS and the DSI XL

I have a R4 Gold and a DSI XL, so I can use the NesDS emulator? I know it's the best NES emulator for the DS but I heard it damages the DS XL's touchscreen, is that true?

It won't damage your touch screen unless you use the touch screen menu really a lot or play light gun games a lot.
