Hacking PS3Key clone?

Well guys, i've bought a PS3key, but the shop said it was out of PS3Key and they could send something else instead that worked just like it and it could do updates...

so i though oh well what the heck, send it!

and i got these

now... i am sure its not a PS3Key original.... now how can i tell if its a clone or a AVRKey usb (website)

should i try opening it and seeing what it is inside? i'm kinda worried i might break it though

ideas? opinions?

I think opening it is the only possibility.

maybe you can plug it in a computer and open it with a hex editor, but im not sure


or just ask them what the heck this is^^

the problem is... it's hard for me to talk spanish properly! i understand everything they say to me, but talking back is another story, plus they don't know how to speak english (at least the dude i "talked" to didn't know english at all)

1) it should have come with a serial number on the package on a yellow sticker
you can type this in the ps3key site to validate it
2) plug and unplug it into a computer usb port 4 times
if it turns blue then most likely its real, if it stays red then its fake

Joe88, it always stays red.

Although if i try to run the jailbreak in the PS3, it turns blue (if sucessful, otherwise it stays red).

and it does come with a yellow sticker with a barcode.

it isn't recognized by the ps3key, it doesn't even have the PS3Key logo.


updatE: oh wait... it turned blue now all of a sudden lol!

as far as I know none of the official PS3Key's on the market have the logo

see if you can flash the official firmware to it
if the sticker is green that means its an avr key

i must be color blind... yeah its a green sticker. what can i do with this?

any guide or something?

update: aaaaa found a tutorial and all that. here for installing everything and making everything fine and dandy!
