so my ps3 is higher then 3.55 or whatever it is, its in the 4. so what do i have to do? can i still softmod it?

Model number? Depending on model number you can downgrade it by paying someone or you're completely out of luck.

Find and pay someone to downgrade your PS3 to 3.55.

btw a random question, with my console can i use a external hdd for saving games and stuff not modded? im new with ps3, always had a 360

ISO and folder rip of game can be stored on external HDD. It must be less than 2TB with MBR/FAT32 formatted.

Save file of a game is on internal HDD.
