A couple months ago I had someone hack my PS3 and install CFW for me, and I've been enjoying it and having minimal problems accessing homebrew and backups and such. Although the problem is, I have no idea on the specifics of what was exactly done to my ps3, other than the general downgrading and installation of the cfw.

What I mainly want to know is whether or not my PS3 can access PSN, but it's hard for me to understand guides and such since idk anything about my cfw or how it works or how I can update it.

The OFW is 4.66, and the multiman client says that I'm on COBRA 7.02 firmware mode atm. It'd be great if someone could explain how to update CFWs or which CFWs are best for what stuff, and on methods for connecting to PSN.

Thanks.

you download the PUP, rename it to PS3UPDAT.PUP and place it on a flash drive under PS3/UPDATE/

go to system update on your ps3, choose from storage device.

google is your friend for simple things like this :)

oh and D-REX is debug firmware to stick with REX

i only buy new ones when theres a new standard and I have gear that uses it. Otherwise my cables seem to last forever.

@SylverReZ Yup. Been a longtime fan of Ween. Not a mega-fan by any means but I'm pretty familiar with most of their tunes.

I like electronics that use detachable cables, that way if the cable breaks you can just swap in a new one instead of replacing the whole unit
