It's not like some devs are working on finding a boot1 exploit...
But yeah, i agree. It would be pretty much dead without those devs we have now.

Wii U scene is partially dead because people run away from everything or make dumb excuse such as "another program outside Wii U does that perfectly" *sigh*

No, unless the emulator can somehow perform better than the PSP in terms of input lag, slowdown, etc.

The problem with the WiiU scene is that there never was a WiiU scene.
    1% very good devs
4% decent devs or wanna learn devs
95% waiting for everything to be given to them, and for some of them being quite ungrateful about it

Nothing is preventing anyone to make the WiiU scene great again. The Wii U could actually be the best legacy console for nintendo games. But the scene itself isn't quite motivating.

It has more than enough power to slaughter the PSP in terms of what it can run, the problem is whether or not devs show interest.

That's what pisses me off the most, the power is there, it could've been so much better, and yet it all went to hell recently. I don't see it picking up again anytime soon, or seeing a homebrew revival.

I'd really like to see it on the Switch, to be honest.
Don't really know why I would, though.

Everyone, the OP asked if it was possible. Not if devs would want to develop for it. We haven't even been able to run homebrew on it, so what makes you guys thinks you'd be right if devs would develop for a emulator right now? The OP had their question answered, so can we talk about this when devs can actually develop programs for the switch?

Depending on how deep homebrew access we get, it just may be possible. The biggest issue with any emulator, especially for more powerful consoles like the PSP, is if we can compile and execute code on the go. On Android it's fully possible, nothing in the system blocks it. I know it was an issue on iOS, only apps with special permissions could do it and it required jailbreaking to do, not sure how it is now. I know it was stated on PSP's site to be impossible on Windows Phones a few years back.
Now, Switch runs it's own OS not based on any of them, similair to 3DS if our hacker scene is to be believe (and why shouldn't we?), that means Switch is using NX bits to make something like that near impossible. What does it mean? That only certain parts of memory, set during execution of... whatever we use to get into homebrew (3DS example: Cube Ninja), can be used as program code areas. That is the main reason why on 3DS emulators using HBL are slower than ones running on CFW, they have much more limited executable memory (at times even being impossible to use) whereas on CFW, with kernel acess basically, all of it can be used.
In other words - don't expect a PSP emulator when we get homebrew execution on Switch, only expect it once we get a Kernel Exploit or even a CFW (as Kernel Exploits may be targetting parts not managing memory access).

And then we will have the issue of porting it to Switch itself, harware may be the same as the Shield, but the syscalls are completely different, it would need to get a major rewrite of nearly all main graphical functionality.

You could as well, not quote him and save this thread from derailing into "Oppai pls >w<///".

So? One meaningless and joking comment shouldn't scream out EOF asap.
    On
topic now, the switch would still even be a better outlet for homebrew like ppsspp than the wii u too.

the vita screen is big enough !

but i would not mind having a good psp emulator on the switch.
i'd love a ps2 emu on my switch though. (that'd be fantastic)
