Hacking Options for PSP 3001 with OFW 6.38?

From what I can tell, 6.61 Infinity might be a good option for a PSP 3001?

I was going to follow the below guide, but it's a little confusing. For example, it doesn't make clear if I should stay on OFW 6.38 or if I should update to OFW 6.61 before even stating the process.

Additional, the link in the guide for the Infinity firmware files is down, so I was going to grab them from the below page. But not sure if it the correct files as it is called Infinity Installer (Version: 1.0)

Update to lastest ofw first + the files are the good ones
