Hi all,

Bare with me because I am a female and not native English speaker, one with technical understanding but I can't get this to work and it frustrates me...
Does this still work on 11.0?

What I have:
A NEW 3DS XL
I have EUR Zelda Ocarina of time
I have EUR Smash Bros (This is for last resort)

I have the EUR powersave (POST5_E_24576_9221)
I succesfully loaded the save on the cartridge.
The save loads succesfully in game and has hax and hearts in the name.
On pressing 'A' one of the following happens:
EITHER: The game freezes OR
goes back to menu and says, an error occurred and restarts.

I put the homebrew starter kit on the SD along with the oot3dhax data in 3ds folder.
Please help.

Actually sounds a lot like a error I had once, it seems like the hax is activating when you dropping back to home menu with the "A error has occurred"
have you download the homebrew starter kit to the New 3DS?

Homebrew Starter Kit

Hello,

Yes, this is on the SD card. In proper folders. Doublechecked. (offtopic: I hate that you have to screw the backplate off. why Nintendo)

You just rename the payload.
Hello, what do you mean with payload? Do I need a payload? Where to put it? Or do you mean the oot3dhax 3ds folder thingy or homebrew starter kit files?

This post will not help you in any way, but

How does this make a difference o_o

I dunno, when people discover some noobness in some areas they sometimes get rude and say that every man should this or that. So in advance I tell them that I am not. Then they usually act shocked. Say, the internet is only male or send me pm's for my asl. Sigh

I don't think they added 11.0 support for OOThax yet so you're out of luck.

Is that official? Because I read somewhere on gbatemp that 10.7 payload/save?? works on 11.0. I just don't understand the payload part at all. What is a payload, what to do with it. Where to get it, how to use it, where to put it. I read that with the new oot3dhax a payload was not needed? I am using the powersaves method.

Nah, oothax sadly doesn't work on 11.0 yet.
I feel you, t'was my primary entrypoint. Smashhax apparently works on 11.0, though.
Hmmm, ok. I have Smashbros. Time to get an unix live cd then. Any link to a current and good tutorial you know of?

A payload? This is directly quoted from the homebrew starter kit website:

"Some exploits (not ninjhax, ironhax or tubehax) might allow you to run the homebrew launcher and require you to get an
"otherapp payload" (or a "ropbin payload") to do so. This payload is a binary file specific to your firmware version"

I believe oothax has its payload integrated in the save file.
The real reason why oothax doesn't work is because, in 11.0, nintendo added some sort of randomization system when launching oothax/cubic ninja.
I'm not completely sure how it works, but it'll basically reduce the chance of oothax launching properly to almost nothing. If you launch it a BUNCH of times (I've tried, no luck for me)
it should apparently work, thanks to that small chance of it booting, but imo it's such a hassle that it's better to just call it "not working".

Smea is working on a fix, but he hasn't given any news on it so far.

As for smashhax, here's an EXCELLENT piece of software:
https://gbatemp.net/threads/tutorial-using-smashhax-with-linux.397194/

It'll simplify the process significantly. Also, you can just get a portable linux distro on a usb stick, then launch it from that. No need for cd's.
:)

EDIT: I edited the link now, but the original one directed you to page 9 of that post. Sorry!
EDIT 2: there, now it's fixed.

Thanks everyone. I tried this method and have big problems because I have zero Linux knowledge. Only what I just achieved through google.

I create the live USB stick. It boots succesfully. I download the helper. Upon running the SH it opened in Libre writer or something. (nothing about this in the tut)
First I got the menu back in Nautilus so I could set the SH to run. But when I run the SH nothing happens. Using terminal it says command not found when I try to run it or use sudo.

EDIT: Btw I used the Linux in the big link in the thread. Vivid velvet or something 15.04

It's meant to grab the attention of prepubescent boys. "Hey guys I'm a girl on the Internet, give me the attention I deserve." Laughable.
Well, no. I already stated why I mentioned that.

Update: I found the ubuntu mate release here: https://ftp.yzu.edu.tw/Linux/ubuntu-cdimage/ubuntu-mate/15.04/
The one I download from the tutorial link is not called mate. I will try it with this one.

Sorry was Watching the Tree-house, with OOthax it's necessary to get a "otherapp" payload, (and while it's not updated for 11.0 yet the 10.7 payload works absolutely fine)

Go here "https://smealum.github.io/3ds/" And scroll down to about halfway down and it'll have drop boxes, select 10.7 and click download (it'll open up a download for you) no you must put this on your SD card, there are two ways either by opening up the coverplate and putting card into computer or by using the Nintendo method "http://en-americas-support.nintendo.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/14218" when you put it on your 3DS it must match a very Specific name or it'll drop you to the Home Menu with a Warning, now are you Mentioned you have a New 3DS Xl and you have Eur version of Zelda I'll assume yours is the same model as Mine, so you must name the downloaded file "ropbinpayload_menuhax_EUR12288_new3ds.bin" then when you trigger the hax it should load the Homebrew menu

Thanks a lot for the info. I got 3 different results so far: complete freeze, backtomenu error, black screen error.

I also tried smashbroshax on eur smashbros 1.1.0. With smashpayload.bin in the root of the SD. The packets are being sent on 2 pc's but nothing happens when in SMASH --> Multiplayer
I used Ubuntu mate 15.04 and the smashbros-helper app.

BTW: It always freezes as soon as I hit 93 packets. Like it stops there.

I Can't help you much on the Smash brohax, BacktoMenu error seems like its working properly just not finding it's payload, I would Imagine that some file must be named wrong/incorrect version, OH my I'm soo sorry I was so excited about watching Monster hunter I gave you the wronf file name,
could you rename "ropbinpayload_menuhax_EUR12288_new3ds.bin" to "hblauncherloader_otherapp_payload_NEW-11-0-0-33-EUR.bin"
then double check you have these files on your SD Card
boot.3dsx
hblauncherloader_otherapp_payload_NEW-11-0-0-33-EUR.bin
