Once I have a game installed and want to move it or back it up

    I have marvel ultimate alliance and star wars battlefront 2 installed can I just take the install folders and move and back up that way

    It depends on the game, but usually they're set up so they can't be moved (because moving the directory would "lose" some of the dependant files, meaning the registries won't point to the correct location).

    Best option is uninstalling and reinstalling.

    Yeah it depends on how reliant the game is on the registry. Battlefront 2 I believe uses registry keys as part of serial number checks and playing online, but it's been many years since I've had that game installed. Best bet is to remember where it was installed and put it back if it doesn't work. If it helps, a move operation (use cut instead of copy) is way faster than a copy on Windows.

    Cut only appears faster if it's done on the same drive. If you cut from one drive to another drive (e.g from HDD to SSD) it will be the same speed as a copy operation.
