This game is really fun. I've been playing it for the last eight days (lol). What's a randomizer though? Can't watch the stream cause I'm doing this from my phone and streams fuck my data.

A randomiser basically has every encounter in the game reshuffled. So you might even find a Zygarde on Route 1! It's definitely a fun way to spice up the experience.

pretty sure pk3ds would work.
Yessir, PK3DS was the tool I used! The general process for anybody curious is as follows:
  1. Dump a decrypted version of your game (installed versions should be dumped using GodMode9, physical can be dumped using Decrypt9)
  2. Follow Asia81's guide to extract your game contents
  3. Use PK3DS to edit the game as you see fit
  4. Either rebuild the game as a CIA, or put the edited files on your SD card and use Luma's LayeredFS system (I recommend Luma here)
If you guys have any further questions, by all means ask away. It's really not as difficult as some people think.

Can I use multiple CIA's of the same game on my 3DS, so say one UM for normal gameplay and another UM that was randomized.

Nah, not unless you messed with Title IDs, which can get messy. One option would be to use Luma's LayeredFS, since you aren't directly altering the game files. You're just loading them from the SD as the game is running. That'd mean if you deleted the additional files on the SD card, your game would be back to vanilla.

Of course, the good thing about Game Freak's money grab is you have two versions of what is essentially the same game to play with. You can always just have Ultra Sun as your random game, and Moon as your legit.
