Here's what I did:
  • Got new O3DSXL on 6.2 sysNAND FW, backed up 6.2 FW
  • Used LOADER.DAT to downgrade to 4.2, backed up 4.2 FW
  • Used SSB retail cart to upgrade to 8.1, backed up 8.1 FW
  • Used Sky3DS to load SSB w/9.2 FW, backed up 9.2 FW
  • Used LOADER.DAT to format emuNAND to SD
  • Updated emuNAND to 9.7 via settings
  • Updated my old O3DSXL (no Gateway) to 9.7 sysNAND FW
  • Performed system transfer between the two
  • Copied old SD Card files to new emuNAND SD
  • Games showed on sysNAND and emuNAND but would require re-DL to work
  • Extracted MOVEABLE.SED and TICKET.DB from emuNAND
  • Injected MOVEABLE.SED and TICKET.DB to sysNAND
  • Went to boot up rxMode = BKSOD
I have since tried reformatting emuNAND from scratch x3 times. Now games won't appear and BKSOD when trying to link NANDs.

Even linked NNID in emuNAND (sysNAND is 9.2 so I have no eShop or NNID access) and tried repeating linking of NANDs.

I have no GW Red Cart (yet) and the old O3DSXL has now factory reset to language.

Good news is:
I have sysNAND backups of all FW on PC
I have emuNAND backups with 9.7 and everything dumped, but right before NAND linking for quick restore.
I have old SD with all files intact, and have backed them up to PC and NAS
I tried destroying the MBR and partitions and starting from scratch. No luck.
I can get into emuNAND no problem until I try to link NANDs. Then BKSOD.
Old SD card files only work if SD is not formatted in emuNAND.

When I link NANDs I extraxt .SED & .DB from (Y) emuNAND. When I inject I select (X) sysNAND.

SysNAND is still on 9.2.

I now get error 022-5515 when trying to sign in with NNID. I also get error 005-4305 when trying to access eShop. EmuNAND has eShop access once I have 9.7 and NNID setup.

Again, no GW Red Cart. Only using rxTools and GW Menu.

rxTools reads in bottom left corner:
EMUNAND
NewKeyX

What am I doing wrong? Or what am I not doing at all?

Have I lost all my old savedata and eShop games? Any way I can possibly recover them?

I have slot0x25KeyX.bin but sysNAND is 9.2 and emuNAND is 9.7... but yes. I've been using it on root. Have FIRMWARE.BIN on root.

Not sure what keysx7.00 is...??? How get?

I have on root of amuNAND SD:

rxTools.dat
firmware.bin
changelog.txt
slot0x25KeyX.bin

Boots into rxMode, but none of my games are showing and I have my old Nintendo 3DS and my DCIM folders.

Okay, that solves NewKeyX... still no games. :-/ They show when I use the old SD card or when the EMUNAND SD is formatted to normal. Not sure why they don't appear while on GWEMUNAND.

Still can't get old SD data to load on new 3DSXL... I'm assuming it's the formatting of the EMUNAND because if I take the actual old SD card and insert it, it all appears, but then I'd have to repair it.

If I insert an unformatted SD into 3DSXL, will it format it for me? Might be the format prior to EMUNAND formatting that may be the issue...???

Played NES SMB on emuNAND, made savedata, went to settings and now all my eShop games are there and no updates required. Launched SMB and was at same point I left in emuNAND.

I also DLed updates to games while in emuNAND.

No, I need help. Really want to restore savedata from old SD card. Especially MiiPlaza and eShop games. Just don't have Red Cart yet.

Point me in the right direction...

I screwed up on the transfer. But I still have the old SD savedata. Physically and digitally.

Okay, I compared my GATEWAYNAND and my old SD card files.

I noticed a few things:

Nintendo 3DS folder has the same first string and private folder. But in that folder it has two strings while old one only has one.

Obviously it created a new string because one of the two matches the old SD file's string.

Can I just copy everything from the old string to the new one?

C:\Users\USERNAME\Desktop\3DS SD CARD BACKUP\Nintendo 3DS\1st STRING\

NEW STRING\ only has current eShop DLs and savedata folders:
dbs\
extdata\
title\

OLD STRING\ has old eShop DLs and savedata:
backup\
dbs\
extdata\
title\

Of course BACKUP are old backups. But TITILE and EXTDATA have some similarities between old/new strings. Can't I just copy them to the new string and revive my old SD files?
