Not a bad choice and potential hardware upgrade or even high power models. Also sort of making porting from wii u easier?
Also unity would still be the best tools for developers without training on low level programming and visual api (hate to say it but sonic boom made with CE2).
And Nintendo always have these tools long before younger devs of unity given birth.

@K3Nv2 I did that using Citra for 3DS games. Bottom screen was my smartphone. Until I got the touch screen. -
