Hello there. I recently got myself an R4I Gold 3DS Plus flashcart and have already followed the steps of injecting ntrboot flasher into my new flashcart (Thus rendering it unopenable after that?). I followed the rest of the steps that involved placing the necessary files into my New 3DS XL microSD from this video.

However, no matter how many times I try, I just can't happen to get my 3DS to boot up in B9S. I keep on trying the "Hold X + Start + Select + Power" combination and it truly does is just boot up the normal home menu. Or if not, it either shuts right back off (probably due to holding power for so long), or it starts up normally, but in sleep mode from the magnet I'm using.

Is there a very specific way that I need to do this combination? I'm very frustrated and confused over this. I've already injected NTR Boot Flasher and I REALLY don't wish to order another flash cart.

    EDIT: It's cool now.

Ah, I see, you'll need the DSTT's backup.bin then (as you probsbly know, sorry for getting your hopes up).

You aren't supposed to flash an r4i Gold 3ds plus, you have to open up the card and press the switch that puts it in ntrboot mode.

That probably means your cart isn't fully supported, although it may just be a courrpted backup. There's also a *slight* possibility it's a contact issue, so try cleaning your card's contacts.

I forgot it had that feature... I'm an idiot. Also, I tried opening up the cart and flipping the switch, then it turns out... After 3 tries, it worked. Thanks.

    caught in a landslide
    1. Buy a pre-flashed card/flash your own using a DS/DSi
    2. Set up GodMode9 and launch it through NTRBoot
    3. Perform a CTRTransfer or restore a NAND backup

Oh shit. I was preparing for a hardmod... but I guess I don't have to do it. Thank you!..... So just set Decrypt9 as "boot.firm"? (I prefer Decrypt9)

Yes, but Decrypt9 isn't updated anymore and GodMode9 is better

Whenever I use GM9 to try to restore a NAND backup, it doesn't work. But I will try. Thank you.

I am using an R4 DHC Gold Pro it says www.r4ishdc.com and has a 2017 in the top right corner. It keeps saying "Flashcart setup failed" when I try to do the ntr.

There are so many posts I can't keep them straight. I do have an Nintendo DS Lite, an unmodded "old" 3ds and a modded "new" 3ds... I tried to flash the cart using the new modded 3ds and it said it wasn't compatible.

Will keep reading but thought I would ask...

    Thanks

Install b9s first then launch GodMode9 as a Luma payload. That way it will have full access to your system's memory.

I have 3 piece of bricked DSTTi with me, I managed to unbrick them using ntrflasher (thanks).
I think I managed to brick them due to using the wrong kernel when updating the cart to work with DSi (i think you need to use their outdated kernel to get it work properly, and im dumb and go ahead update the cart without reading the readme file first, silly me).

although I did manage to recover them, they are practically useless since they no longer updated (kernel and flashcart bootrom wise) thus I cant use them on up-to-date 3ds firmware and some games doesnt work properly unless I patch them manually for AP checks.

So here I have a 3 NTRBoot carts here. Oh well....

    I already have B9S, but sometimes GM9 doesn't fix anything. When I use Decrypt9, I works.

So launch GodMode9 as a Luma payload and then launch the program to modify the Gold card?

I did exactly as you said...and used the R4 option instead of R4 Gold and it worked perfectly. The card says it is gold pro...but the gold pro option failed everytime.

Modded an 11.6 3ds with ZERO issues.

    THANK YOU!
