are you using the version of multi-mod-manager that I linked? it's the latest version v13.4 it does have the option to install and patch IOS36 i've used it personally. it's an option on the main screen.

I would personally keep a backup of your current wads on your pc just in case things go wrong and you need those backups
I clicked through all the links you provided me, sorry to sound rude, but I'm not stupid. That takes you to this page: https://gbatemp.net/threads/modmii-for-windows-official-support-topic.207126 the link to ModMii's "official webpage" does not work (tried several times), so I Googled it and got this page: https://code.google.com/p/modmii/downloads/list where it clearly states that the most recent upload was v6.3.1 uploaded Dec 2013. That's the version I have installed, and when it loads it even checks for updates and says "this version is up to date" so you might see my frustration. I keep getting redirected to all this old software.

And to clarify on the other part, none of the wads have to be on the sd/usb once they're installed? Even the forwarder channels, etc?

Nevermind...my apologies *embarassed face* I just found Multi-Mod-Manager under my downloads, I thought you were talking about ModMii. I'll try this all over again when I get home from work tonight, thanks again and sorry for the misunderstanding

lol I never posted modmii that was a different user. You don't need the .wad files on the sd card after installing them no but having them stored on your pc is always a good idea

Modmii is old software because nintendo hasn't updated a wii system menu since then, so theres nothing to update. Use modmii and stay away from brick my wii, dude!
install it on your pc, run it from your pc, and follow the steps. its that simple.
But hey, 2 pages later and your still messing with things, right?

I always keep the originals so no worries, just wanted to be sure I could free up that space.

Idk what brick my wii is...but I have a backup of my nand and keys and BootMii and Priiloader installed so even if I don't exactly know how to recover if it happens, I'm pretty sure I'm safe. And it's not that I don't think ModMii doesn't have good features or whatever, it's just not what I need right this moment to fix my ios problems. I like the fact that it generates guides based on your input but they're less helpful than what I'm getting from posting here, so I think I'll stick to whatever Acidflare said

Ok, so I finally had some time last night to try again. I followed your advice Acidflare and loaded multi-mod-manager, installed and patched ios36 (which for some reason also downgraded ios15 and made a ios0...? I then ran Pimp My Wii, updated itself and then ran the scan and "fixed the problems", it told me I needed many files and then downloaded them and installed them. This is the result after it output the log file:

As you can see, there's no d2x v8 anywhere and I still have a lot of stubs and an ios0 now for some weird reason. And on top of that, the disc channel still says "Wii System Update", I think because Pimp My Wii updated the downgraded ios15 from multi-mod, but I'm not sure. How do I fix these problems? Also, side-note, and I don't know if it's related or not or if I just screwed up majorly, but when I first hacked my Wii I never had anything freeze or hang or give me a black screen; now, about 1 out of every 3 times I attempt to load a game in emunand it will begin to load the game and then just stick on the black screen where I have to manually shut down my Wii and turn it back on, what could this be and how do I fix it? Also, Pimp My Wii said one of the other things was that I was missing cMIOS and to install an emulator I think, will Nintendont add cMios? Thanks in advance to anyone who can resolve these issues for me

By the way, is there a way to get back to the loader directly from a WiiWare or Virtual Console game from emunand? Because I'm using USB Loader GX, I really like the layout and the themes and the depth of options but when you're in one of those games it only gives you the option to exit to the home screen, which then puts you at the black "press A" screen when you first turn on the Wii, then I have to get back into the loader again...it's just a pain. Are there any other loaders that circumvent this or is there a way to configure GX to not do that?

Have you tried using ModMii?

https://code.google.com/p/modmii/

not sure if usb loaders will read from SD, so that sounds like the problem. I run everything from usb with no problems. Formatted drive to FAT32 and never looked back.....

Actually you can, there is a way :) If you use a back up loader channel like Neogammer 56 like I do and then use a basic usb 2.0 card reader and stick the reader in the 1st slot at the back of your wii unit and put your sd card in your 2.0 card reader, it will load your games on the usb side with Neogamma backup loader :)

UPDATE! Ok, so I was finding it really difficult to follow along with all the updates and still getting game freezes when loading, etc. so I decided to look up how to do a "fresh install" as it were, to bring my system back to as close to a useable state as possible. I found and followed this guide to the letter: http://www.wiihacks.com/recommended-faqs-guides-tutorials-only/96886-guide-softmod-any-wii.html even the optional steps of downgrading my system menu to 4.1u and setting the priiloader hacks and the nand dump and keys...Anyway, after doing all of that I ran the syscheck and got this report:

It seems like a much more stable build this time around, I tested all my emulators and the disc channel and they are working fine, no problems. I tried loading Nintendon-t and loading F-Zero AX which worked before I remodded but does not now, I'm guessing it has something to do with the CMIOS or lack thereof. If someone could tell me how to restore that functionality that would be great.

Second, I have not yet dumped my nand to install my WiiWare/Virtual Console stuff to yet. Last time I used the dumper in USB Loader GX but I was reading that neek2o will actually create a nand dump that is useable by all of the major loaders. If anyone has any info or experience on how to do this, that would be perfect. Once I have those two things restored (GameCube support and a useable emunand that works with USBLGX, CFG and WiiFlow) I will then be perfectly content and not messing with any other system internals for quite a while lol

Any other advice in regards to the log file would be appreciated (such as, I know that d2x v10 is now the preferred for ~ios250? but what are the benefits and/or disadvantages?) also, the guide I followed said it's very important to not change IOS60 rev54321 that I have now as it could brick, any details on why that would happen or how to prevent that would be useful.

Thanks to everyone who has helped me thus far :)

i've been away for a bit no don't use the neogamma loader channel, Do you have Priiloader installed? if not download this pack I put together a while ago for modding wii's http://www.mediafire.com/download/xdi1f8ao4vpl65j/Wii+Mod+Kit.7z
there's a Neogamma as disc channel hack pack with an included version of priiloader use that. afterwards all discs booted from the disc channel will run through neogamma.

a CustomMIOS is not needed if nintendon-t runs in IOS mode not in MIOS mode

yeah I can tell you exactly why they said not to change IOS60 on 4.1 it's the IOS the v4.1 system menu runs on. you really should look at how the Wii actually turns on for example Boot0>Boot1>Boot2>IOS>.app>IOS again

I do have priiloader installed, not sure which version, but it works (that's how I enabled the hide disc and internet updates options) but I honestly have no idea what neogamma is, it came with the modpack when I did the fresh install, but I probably won't even use it, so no worries about that. What I'm more concerned with is the emunand (doing it right so that all loaders can use it) and restoring TriForce functionality, because as I said, it worked before I did the clean install but now it gives me an error when I try to load it through Nintendon-t, will provide more details as soon as I can.

Update: So I updated nintendon-t and it fixed the Tri/QuadForce wads, all are working great (still haven't figured out how to retain save data yet but I know there's a way to do it by emulating a GC save cart because one of the games, Mario Kart GP I think, asks for that but it lets you play without it). I followed this guide for the most part: https://gbatemp.net/threads/wiiflow-mod-and-emunand.333219/ except that I downloaded the latest rev96 instead of 95 and used a 4.1U emulated nand (because that's what my real nand system menu is now and I wanted them to match, I read that 4.3 has better compatibility with WiiWare/Virtual Console titles which may be true, I tried to load a VC 64 title through WiiFlow and it froze, but I'm thinking about moving those from emu to real nand since they are relatively small files in terms of block size; found a chart here: http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/2000407-wii-virtual-console-and-wiiware/52940144) but I ran into trouble with WiiFlow because the version included in the guide was older than the one I had softmodded with but fortunately I kept the original (and the "master pack" I downloaded has ~40mb+ of plugins and box artwork, etc so I wanted to incorporate them) but when I tried to load the version in the guide it would not display text at all or icons, just dark blank buttons so I deleted that from the card and installed the version that came with the softmod. It was also odd to me that both USB Loader GX and WiiFlow could not recognize the nand automatically, they were both looking for it on the SD card, but the ModMii guide told me to put it on the USB since I chose a Uneek+DI install. But I just redirected the path to USB and both loaders found the emunand but I have yet to test all the WiiWare/Virtual Console titles. I will post back when I have done that with a list of what works and what doesn't. But so far I have a stable set of IOS, the disc channel works, all my emulators (fceugx, snes9xgx, vbagx, genplusgx, scummvm) work great, WiiFlow and USB Loader are both loadable and stable (for some reason Configurable USB keeps wanting to look for a partition with wbfs games, which I have none of so...I don't think I'll be using that at all) and GameCube support seems fully functional from SD under Nintendon-t including Triforce support. That's where I'm at right now...so close to perfection I can taste it lol

Why didn't you just use Simple FS Dumper with the Full mode? It dumps all the contents of your nand to folders on your SD/ USB Device.
you can just move all of the folders from the SD card to a nand folder then use it.

Using usb loader GX and Uneek2o with an emunand is different. USB Loader GX uses cIOS to load the titles on the emunand and redirect nand access to where ever the emunand is located, where as Uneek2o is actually running the emulated nand in real time which works slightly better.
Did you make sure you set usb loader gx to look in "usb1:/nands/pl_us/" ? that's the default directory that Uneek2o uses, Uneek2o will read any nand folder that is place in nands, for example "usb:/nands/pl_us/" "usb:/nands/pl_jap/" "usb:/nands/pl_eu/".

That would have been convenient, but I was not aware of that program and everyone seems to use ModMii for everything so I figured that would be the thing to do.

Using usb loader GX and Uneek2o with an emunand is different. USB Loader GX uses cIOS to load the titles on the emunand and redirect nand access to where ever the emunand is located, where as Uneek2o is actually running the emulated nand in real time which works slightly better.

I did not know about that either, however I must have accidentally removed the neek folder because I can only load it through emunand, which seems odd to me. Also, none of the loaders that I tried (GX, WiiFlow and CFG) look for a "nands" folder, they all look for "nand" on *SD* first, I had to redirect the custom paths in GX for it to find it, but WiiFlow's menu "pressing the "B" button to switch between channels, usb, etc does not find anything other than GC games even when I set it to look in USB...but as I said GX seems to do just fine but I don't know if I should have a 4.3 emulated nand or stay with the one I have and try them through neek first...

Update: All of my GX software works perfectly, FCEUltra, SNES9X, VBA, and GenPlus as well as ScummVM and USBLGX. Out of all the loaders I have, GX works the best for me. WiiFlow will load to its menu, but only recognizes GC games and when I attempt to load an actual disc game it gives this error: DSI exception and then a code stack and dump. Postloader 4.6 loaded through the HBC and CFG freezes, also it does not recognize the nand/emunand channels, just GC games (as WiiFlow does) (for the record, my GC games are on my SD card under "games" folder, not sure why all the loaders look to SD first when I set it up have the emunand on the USB drive...) and I still have not messed with the Neogamma channel at all.

So, as I said, been using USB Loader GX for almost everything and now I understand the difference between how GX and neek load, but I have some WiiWare games acting up (freezing) that didn't before I downgraded to SM 4.1, so I'm not sure if it's because the games load IOS60 and that's what loads 4.1, but I can't find a list of WiiWare IOSs anywhere so I wouldn't know, but so far these are the games that crash:

Gods vs Humans (freezes at beginning of level 1)
Gyrostar (freezes on loading)
Liight (freezes on loading)
Rubik's Cube Puzzle Galaxy RUSH (freezes on loading)
Anima: Ark of Sinners (freezes on loading)
Boingz (freezes chosing icon)
Castlevania: The Adventure ReBirth (freezes at load but can still access Home menu)
and Aya and the Cubes of Light gives this error: Protected stream "cntnand:2:rvl_packfile.s3d_pack": stream is invalid.

Other than that everything runs smoothly thus far but I will try to restore neek2o to my real nand and attempt the failed to load games through that and see if it doesn't work; however, like I said, before I downgraded SM to 4.1 I had Liight on it and it loaded fine through GX. Also, I've read some people saying that GX won't load the Konami "ReBirth" series of games at all (and cited Castlevania, which as we can see, I have a problem with also) however, I have tried Gradius ReBirth and that plays great. Will test Contra and the others later but I know most of the remakes for the Wii work flawlessly (Bubble Bobble, Bust-a-Move, Blaster Master, Bomberman and Mr. Driller all play great on my emunand through GX).

Thanks to everyone who has helped me explore and better my wii system so far, it's coming along very nicely. :)

I will have to read 3 different NAND path to implement neek2o in USBLoaderGX? each region his own neek?
can't neek launch all regions from the same NAND?

cxerophim:
Castelvania needs Neek/neek2o
I don't know about the other games.

There's a (just started and short) compatibility list for USBLoaderGX EmuNAND here : http://wiki.gbatemp.net/wiki/Wii_EmuNAND_Channel_Compatibility_List
please add games you tested.

There's a (just started and short) compatibility list for USBLoaderGX EmuNAND here : http://wiki.gbatemp.net/wiki/Wii_EmuNAND_Channel_Compatibility_List
please add games you tested.
Thanks for the link! I've been looking for something like this. And this may seem silly but wouldn't it be loading a loader...inside of another loader? (if you were to run neek through GX that is) Or is there a way to incorporate neek functionality into GX that I don't know about? It just seems a little like entering the Matrix by going down the rabbit hole lol

I will have to read 3 different NAND path to implement neek2o in USBLoaderGX? each region his own neek?
can't neek launch all regions from the same NAND?

those are the defaults used by modmii neek2o will look for any folder that contains a nand contents inside the "usb1:/nands/" location. This allows for DI nand region switching. like I suggested to you before cyan take a look through the postloader code you may learn some things about implementing neek2o.

Postloader only works with Uneek2o it works best with the DI module it will only search in usb1:/nands/ for a nand directory folder. it also has some triiforce mod implemented I believe.

cxerophim you can always use modmii to download a 4.3u wad after copying the contents of your nand using Simple FS Dumper So..
1. use Simple FS Dumper with Full Option
2. move folders generated on SD card into a single folder
3. use modmii to download SM 4.3u .wad file
4.use ShowMiiNand to install the SM 4.3u .wad file.

ShowMiiNand is a part of ShowMiiWads if you don't have it you can download it from modmii.
when you first start showmiiwads go to options>change NAND backup path point this to your emunand folder now you can use ShowMiiNand go to View>ShowMiiNand
If you drag the wad file over to ShowMiiNand you will get a "queue:1 Install Discard" at the bottom of the window. Click install and you've updated to system menu 4.3u on EmuNand with 4.1u on RealNand.

Cyan might know a bit more about updating EmuNand's as far as I know this is as much as needs to be done.
