As I'm sure most of you are aware, Nitrotracker is a (now opensource) fastracker II style tracker for the DS. However, despite being opensource, there's been no public modifications, or releases past 0.4 released. Due to it's current incomplete-ness and lack of development, many have abandoned it and used other software instead.
A user by the name of Xuriik over on chipmusic.org has started a Nitrotracker Awareness Compilation to try and show that there are a lot of people who still use it, to try and get more people aware of it, and possibly even developing it. I thought it would be a good idea to post this here, seeing as I found out about nitrotracker here, and to see if you guys would like to write some good old fashioned .XMs for a good cause.
If any of you are down for this, head over to the link above to check out more about it, basic info is as follows;
Completed .XMs (and .wav recordings from your DS if possible) sent to xurikk<at>gmail<dot>com
Deadline in approximately a month, still a little bending here and there until more people are on board, best to start writing sooner rather than later.
No limitation to a sample pack, or amount of channels, this is meant to showcase the diversity of music that can be created by Nitrotracker
The release will be put up on bandcamp for free. If there are any sales, all money will go to the Nitrotracker paypal. All tracks will be licensed under by-nc-sa
If anyone has any questions, or wants to say that they're writing for this, or thinks this is a stupid idea, go ahead! Alternatively, if you know anyone who might be interested in this, let them know, the more the merrier!
