Flipnote 3D after period of availability.

Not sure if this is allowed here, but if it isn't feel free to take this down.

Required:
  • An existing Club Nintendo account
  • A 3DS (for, you know, redeeming the code)
  • A brain that can come up with things so say.
Steps:
NOTE: If you want another FlipNoteStudio 3D code for a friend, go through this process, but make sure to tell them that you wiped your SD/MicroSD and then the product wasn't available in the eShop anymore. They should "look into it" then send you another code via email.

  1. Go to http://en-americas-support.nintendo.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/13182/~/club-nintendo-assistance
  2. Say that you never received your copy of Flip Note Studio 3D
  3. If they ask if you filled out a survey or anything like that, say yes.
  4. If they ask that the code was in your account at some point, say yes and tell them that you did not own your 3DS at the time, but you planned on buying one in the future, so you kept the code.
  5. Tell them whatever you think they'd want to hear.
  6. If all goes well, you've got a code. :D If not, you don't get your code. Try again if you wish, but make sure you wait a day to get another representative.
Once again, if you don't want this on this site, feel free to take it down.
Also, it seems that Club Nintendo is giving out these FlipNote codes right now to existing members, so if you don't have one, make sure to check Club Nintendo. If you're feeling greedy, come up with something to get another one :P

Anyway this sounds like a scam, Nintendo could easily check if your old 3DS bought the app or not

Yeah, but if you couldn't download it for some reason, how would they be able to tell?
If you have registered your Flipnote 3D, it can re-downloaded and is always in your account. If you have somehow lost your code (for anything really), Nintendo takes no responsibility.
Have you even actually TRIED this yet? It is very unlikely for this to work.

Preeetty sure he didn't try it.

If you really did get a code at any point, then you had to log in to your Club Nintendo account and "purchase" the code. If you did that, even if for some reason you didn't get the code in an email, it would still be plainly visible under your Order Inquiries. Flipnote would also be listed under Coins & Status, and To-Do History. If the system glitched up and you didn't get it, then it would be unpurchased and wouldn't be in any of those places, so you'd still be able to "purchase" it before the end of this month.

All they'd have to do is check your account history and it'd be obvious you're BSing them. Also, FYI, to even qualify you had to have an account before the end of March. Not many ways to weasel yourself a code at this point. If you didn't get one you'll need a Gateway or CFW to play it.

Oh, but here's something real and actually useful (well, for a tiny number of people). If for some reason you don't have access to your 3DS right now (maybe it's being repaired, borrowed, buried in your hoarding pile, whatever), but you already have an eligible Club Nintendo account and an NNID, you can enter the download code online here:
https://eshop.nintendo.net/redeem#/
Once the code is registered for your NNID you can download/redownload it whenever you want, presumably even after the code redemption period is over (to my knowledge when you've downloaded limited-time items on your account you keep download rights to them forever). Nintendo mentions that the last day to redeem Flipnote codes is 7/31, but they don't mention a last day to actually download the game (because presumably, there isn't a last day).
