According to Gamasutra, Nintendo has acquired Mobiclip, a company specializing in middleware for mobile devices. The actual acquistition of the company transpired back in October of last year but was just recently made public by Nintendo. With technology that allows for high-quality video compression, Nintendo plans to continue use of Mobiclip for future games on its gaming platforms.
In addition to appearing on Nintendo's handheld gaming systems, Mobiclip has found a home on various other mobile devices, such as Sony Ericsson and iPhone.
