ATLUS have just released an all new story trailer along with a bunch of new infos for SMT: Devil Survivor 2 Record Breaker

Here's ATLUS:

Nicaea is back online, and SMT: Devil Survivor 2's protagonist, his classmates Daichi and Io, plus some interesting characters they meet along their way will have to confront their own deaths to alter their fate and save the world! The new story trailer includes the first glimpse at what awaits players in the Triangulum arc -- the new portion of the game that adds ~40 hours of brand new content, including new characters, settings, bosses, and more.
Let's not forget that the game is now fully voiced for both the original Devil Survivor 2 content (the Septentrione arc) and the new portion as well -- not to mention that there's additional StreetPass and SpotPass functionality, and more. And for those die-hards wondering: Yes, it's possible to skip straight to the new portion of the game!

SMT: Devil Survivor 2 Record Breaker will be available beginning on May 5 in stores and on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo 3DS.

That must be a typo or something or does SMT 2 3DS really have 40+ hours of new content than the DS version has?

Are the visuals also being remade? Can't really tell from that trailer.

Cutscenes are, as far as I know. You can even see some portions being remade in this trailer, the character visuals look quite different in there.
The rest of the game is probably just a bit enhanced. Who knows?

Well I would expect Atlus to give this the same treatment they gave Overclocked. Which does seem to be the case.

Should I assume from the term 'Triangulum' that it's an extra three days added onto the story? Unless it branches pretty well I don't see how that'd be a whole 40 hours, unless it's artificial inflation from difficulty.

Either way, I probably won't bother with it. The original DS2 was pretty bad and I doubt they're rewritten the plot or overhauled the battle system beyond a few new demons and some rebalancing.

I am so ready. I am playing through Overclocked again because my hype is so great. If I am ambitious enough, I will publish a review as well.

To skip to the new stuff or to not skip to the new stuff? The struggle is real.

I wonder if we get penalized for skipping to the Triangulum Arc or if theyll bring some sort of incentive to play through the Septentrione Arc again. If the new content really is 40 hours worth of shiny new stuff I dont know if I'll make it through the main game again.

What does this mean for the development of SMTxFE?

afaik the FE developers are mainly responsible for that.. and they are working on a new 3ds FE game (means new - 3ds nothing new 3ds confirmed yet.. confusing Oo).. so problaby SMT x FE - is doing nothing (but who knows)

finished the first ds not long ago (it took me some time...), but thanks to region-free possibilites i´m going to import the us version this time :o i hope we´ll have n3ds support until then............

Urgh. English voice actors. Why must they be so hit and miss?

I like english dubs from time to time but it's rare when it fits well for a character. Localization teams just don't have what it takes (or the money) to hire professional voice actors.
