New details of the first BOTW DLC have been revealed by Nintendo which include new costumes, new items and details about the upcoming hard mode!

    Trial of the Sword
When you get to a certain sacred location, you can take on the new "Trial of the Sword" challenge. Face an onslaught of enemies, one wave after another. Link starts the challenge without any equipment or weapons. When all the enemies in a room are defeated, Link proceeds to the next. Clear all the trials (about 45 rooms in total), and the true power of the Master Sword awakens.

    Hero's Path Mode
This new map feature shows the path Link has walked through Hyrule from the last 200 hours of gameplay. Use the time tracker bar to see where you've spent the most time and where you have yet to explore. There's bound to be more adventures and maybe a shrine or two on the road less traveled.

    Hard Mode
In Hard Mode, enemies gradually regain health, so take them out as quickly as possible. All enemies are also powered up by one level. For example, Red Bokoblins in Normal mode are now Blue Bokoblins. Enemies can also have higher maximum levels than they would in Normal mode. Look up, and you may also find enemies and treasure chests in the sky!

    Travel Medallion
Somewhere in the world, there is a chest with a Travel Medallion inside. When you use this, you can register your current location as a fast travel point on the map. You can only register one location using the Travel Medallion.

Look out for this content sometime in the summer!

    TINGLE! ((Dan's Game))

That path mode seems useful, wish they just made a easy mode and took out the hard stuff. And you telling me even after getting the master sword, i have to POWER IT UP? :wtf:

    No deal! :nayps3:

I like that all of this is just the beginning of the pass. There's a decent bit of content here but the unknown excites me even more for the future.

Hmm very nice. I like the sounds of hard mode. Though I do hope it goes a bit further than that. The other things sound good too.

    Gotta love that tingle outfit.

Anyways, planning on tackling hard mode this summer. Breath of the wild was a challenge in the beginning stages but it got to a point in my playthrough where I sometimes felt a bit over powered in some situations. Don't think I'm going to do all the shrines again.

I saw the Tingle outfit and instantly thought "I want to die."
Hoping they use the iDubbbz voice line when it equips.

I have to admit that the Trials of the Sword has me intrigued. Perhaps it'll double the Master Sword's power (60 base, 120 vs. bosses/guardians), or remove the recharge timer altogether? I think either would be a fair trade since you have to do 45 rooms worth of stuff (both would be even better but I'm being conservative here).

It's base is already at 60 and 120 for bosses and guardians. Perhaps it would make it turn gold and have 120 all the time and remove the need for recharging

So no confirmation if you have to start a new game to play in Hard Mode rather than an option that can be toggled on/off?

All this for $10. Some nice additions for sure. All the thirsty chicks in BotW will enjoy staring at Link's bulge in the Tingle costume.

everyone seems to like the dlc but I don't see anything worthwhile for people who completed the game 100%. the trial of the sword just upgrades the sword and hard mode is just hard mode. If only there was a way to restart the story in hard mode without losing progress of hearts and items, that might be worthwhile.

Hard mode is a good excuse to replay. Hero's Path and Travel Medallion too. Trial of the Sword will be worth at least one play for everybody as well, since you start with nothing.
