You know, if you think about it for a sec, you really don't have to wait for sighax. If they're buying another 3ds on a lower firmware, they can just mod it and system transfer to the modded one...
That's true, but I think the issue for some people is they can't afford to own two consoles at once.

That's where the 2DS shines, $60 for a refurbished one and the firmwares I've seen haven't been over 9.x. It's the cheapest way to hack a 3DS that doesn't have a low enough firmware to do it alone. Granted you don't live anywhere that has ridiculous shipping costs... and/or have lots of friends with CFW'd 3DSes. ;)

Glad I waited! Woo!

All set up with everything. Took me about 10 minutes - everything's running great. Even got BootNTR installed to mess around in games! Lot of fun!
