Hey everyone. I'm new here (although I could've sworn I was a member here years ago during the pokemon diamond era)

I just found a seller from China selling Blue 2DS' for $25 a pop. I was wondering if it was a good deal. Like I stated before, I haven't touched a DS since Pokémon Diamond, but hearing all this cool news about Sun/Moon made me started looking on eBay.

I thought $25 couldn't hurt, whether it was a good deal or not, or if the seller is a scam artist. I bought one (there's buying restriction on this listing, or else I wouldve bought the last 3 he had)

I'll post pictures

It's pretty obvious at a glance and only becomes more obvious the more you look.

- Seller only has 3 feedback
- Seller has no seller feedback
- Has been registered since 2005, but only has 3 purchases, all within the last month. Obviously just to get some feedback to seem slightly more legitimate. They were probably all 1 dollar items.
- Only has one item on sale, which is the one you mentioned.

Obviously a throwaway account, which means this is a scam.
You can find pretty much every current console sold for ridiculous prices like $20-30 if you look, and they are all scams. There's a whole big thread about a similar "deal" on Wii Us that happened semi-recently: https://gbatemp.net/threads/wii-u-ebay-30-00-risky.398184/
tl;dr everyone got tracking numbers, tracking numbers ended up being for other packages that were being sent somewhere else. No one actually received a package.
They promptly got refunded by eBay/PayPal but most likely the seller had already taken the money and ran by then.

Even if you can get refunded I wouldn't suggest buying it on the very small off-chance that it's actually legit, or just for the hell of it, cause the seller will take the money and eBay/PP will refund you out of their own pocket. Which means putting money into the pockets of scammers. The chances of it being legit are probably smaller than the chances of winning the lottery.

Well we're going to have to see what happens. I already paid for it. Hopefully Ebay/PayPal pulls through if it really is a scam

There's 2DS clones?

I'm sure there's some popstation type 2DS ripoff around, not that I've looked. It's cheaper for scammers to send you nothing though, popstations are more intended at parents who have no idea about consoles and only knows their kid wants one for Christmas.

You shouldn't have bought one, it's an obvious scam and you just put $25 into the pockets of a scammer. Shame on scammers for scamming people and shame on you for being dumb enough to fall for it and actually giving them money.

DON'T DO IT. I've bought a 3DS XL from them for 13 dollars. Did a whole entire process for my money, and it still won't be refunded until the 30th. Nothing ever got sent, and since eBay takes the listing down when they review it, I couldn't open a claim and they have my money.

Keep in mind I made the transaction two months ago.

Fake/Scam.

Same as the people selling New "Authentic" 64 GB Vita memory cards for $25.

I am curious why it is always the same price point though, what triggers if it is over $25?

In my case, I'm 15 and I had over 300 dollars to spend when I didn't want or need anything. At the time, I was like "eyyy, it's only 13 bucks"

But I never pay when I don't have to.
Oh, that's very interesting, kinda funny cause I'm going through that right now, kept buying fake micro sd card :rofl2:

Payday loan scam.

1. Sell items you don't have
2. Pocket the money as fast as possible
3. Disappear and stop replying to emails
4. Ebay disputes are raised and the buyer gets their money back after a certain amount of time
5. Rinse repeat and rinse repeat

Thanks guys (for the ones actually being helpful). I'm going to get in contact with PayPal tomorrow to see what they can do for me

Like I said, I've seriously been out of touch with the Nintendo scene, that's why I thought I could ask here for advice. I honestly thought it could have been a a good second hand going rate since they sell refurbished for a pretty cheap through Nintendo. Maybe this could be a precautionary warning for other new less informed ds buyers

I'll update the thread when I get more information

Get the refund before it is processed and "shipped". Waiting will only make things worse.

I did just that. I called eBay and they had me to login to PayPal and cancel the payment and reverse the charge. eBay CS canceled the order on their end.

I really do appreciate all your help guys, honestly. Otherwise I would've been expecting a package next week haha

Just for the record, what is a good price for a used 2DS or 3DS in good condition nowadays?

I need to tell you calm down. I can tell from the way you write that you're excited to get a 3DS/2DS.

But you still need to think rationally. I bought a used Old 3DS from 75$, and for me that was already very cheap. Now, a 2DS sells for about ~80-100$. And you find a deal which is only 25$. That is really suspicious.

So please, be careful. There are a lot of scams around.
