I have to look further, there are config, specific patches and even cheatcodes (yes! It's in the files!) to make some games to work.

Mario Kart has a specific patch to be applied, or it blackscreens on boot:

looks like the same deal as the 3DSVC games, so i assume they just have the patch file in the root of the FS......i wonder if they did the same as the 3DS VC where the actual emulator is multi purpose so dropping a snes game into a n64 VC game would work.........shame i dont own any VC games looks interesting

they are obviously inside the emulator itself but ofcourse each option is set for that specific game for dk64 has all settings to Dk64 rom if you use another rom you need to change them stuff like save format,shadders among other things im guessing.

And that's just the problem, how they're used, how to configure them, how to get the game ID, etc, is not clear, nor are there any tutorials or guides whatsoever. Many people, like myself, are left in the dust, unable to catch up with all the goings on of the Wii u hacking scene, and it's really starting to discourage me and make me ask, "Has this been worth waiting all this time?"

The vagueness, inability to properly set things up and help with testing, and lack of guides and consistency is really starting to piss me off.

I'm investigating all of this since the last 3 days.

from my tests, the ini file is used by the rom of the same name. by editing it to lets say mario karts config makes it work.

the rom/ini name is in fact the game code found in the rom header

like I said, give me time. I am going to document stuff as much as possible, possibly making a wiki page.

Like I said, this is just a matter of time. I keep discovering new stuff here, and considering i'm not a hacker by definition slows me a lot. but I still managed to figure ou stuff

for now I am looking into all n64 stuff, but as soon I can get more vc of other consoles, i will do my best to document everything, and all my stuff will be posted there, to avoid filling the wiu discussion more.
