Modding help need for AGS001

Hi Guys!

I'm totally stumped, I recently bought a scuffed up SP 001 to re-shell and add in a shiny new 101 screen. Got it all together and the back-light doesn't seem to work! You can see the screen image if you squint and shine a light on it so I know it's working in some capacity. The ribbon appears visibly intact and seems to be passing a current through when checked with a multi-meter. All of the tutorials I can find seem to just slot the ribbon into the port on the motherboard and away they go, does anyone have any idea what s wrong/broken?

sounds about right, you can't use AGS-101 screen with AGS-001 motherboard, so get yourself AGS-101 motherboard if you want this screen to display properly

Is there no way to mod to get a 101 screen on a 001? I want to do the same thing

It is possible. You need to add a small 12v regulater to power the screen. I have just modded one recently and it wasn't too hard but you need to have a little experience with soldering.
