Gaming Metal Gear Solid 4 cannot get past Hideo Videos

I got a copy of MGS 4 from my friend and it installed the data and all.

On starting a new game, it shows me two Hideo screens and one other one (black and white background) but no video is displayed.

I press all buttons but can't get past it, is it an AP or game is a bust?

Double-check if the disc is not damaged. By damaged I don't mean just scratches or obvious holes in the layers, if you see splotches of discoloration, the BluRay disc may have been sun-damaged. Take a piece of microfibre cloth and do your best to clean the surface of the disc and re-try, if it refuses to go beyond that point, it may be busted and you'll have to check it on a different system.

umm it was actually a 'regular' dump which i doubt was from a bad source.

Any other reasons? Should I remove the data and play it again or play from internal etc.

Doesn't necessarily have to be on internal if you use something like opensplit. MultiMan will join the big files onto your internal the first time you launch it.
