    I have this same question.
I have several 3DS and several GATEWAY cards, each has A9LH installed and the latest firmware. My newest console, a N3DSXL, has never had Gateway and has no emuNAND.
Do I need to create an EmuNand for Gateway or can Gateway run on A9LH sysNand? Is there a disadvantage to running it on sysNand?
Since I am on the latest firmware with A9LH, how do I set up Gateway sysNAND or emuNAND?

Ok got the answer in another thread. Gateway Game Selection should work without any problem on 11.2 Sysnand wirh a9lh installed :)

Like that :) So now i only need a good shop in the eu/germany or a privat person selling a gateway card :)

If anyone knows a shop with cheap price post a link or if anyone sell a gateway send me a pm :)
    Thanks in advice :)

Why do you want a Gateway card? It doesn't let you do anything more than a9lh does. Except extra cheating. But is that worth paying $100 for?

Want to use cheats with my old 3ds xl with extended memory mode where NTR Plugins not work. And the Cards are selled for around 60$ actually in many shops that would be ok for me. I also going to look for people selling there used cards for example in the marketplace here but first i have to get 100 Posts :)

So if anyone knows a trusted seller in germany or at least in the EU please give me a link :)

EDIT: I want it with sysnand only on 11.2. This does work and start the Gateway Menu if i'm not misunderstood. Right?

And do i need the bluecard also for setup red card? Becaue if not i'm looking for a red cart only because i already own a Flashcard (Supercard DSTWO +) because i was using this for the DS Games to run.
With Gateway do i need the blue card to play NDS Games? Or is the Blucatd for things i don't use and so the DS Games (And maybe also GBA, Snes ... etc. ar also stored on the red card.

But the main thing before buying a Gateway from a shop thats not trusted i better wait and see your answers to my questions in this post so i can be sure i have everything understand. And hopefully someone regards me a shop where the cast isn't to expencive und i can also be sure to get an original card and not a clone.

BZW. Im going to use it with a9lh on updated Sysnand / no emunand. As i read about that fakt it should work just by starting Gateway Mode (Not classic Mode because there doesnt work the Cheat Engine) So after starting in Gateway Mode i have to press the select button and on the menu that popps up i press the UP-Button to be able to activate the cheats and only save the config.
Are there Stepps all right? If not please correct me because i don't want to do something wrong :)

I know the text got a bit longer but didn't want to be multi posts :)

    Hi guys,

    I have a Gateway 3DS and N3DS XL that I haven't touched in a while.

I have booted it up to check the details:
    System firmware is 9.2
    Emunand is 9.5
    Gateway version is 3.2.2

I use a Zelda OOT cartridge to load the Gateway 3DS menu.

My question is, where can I go from here? I don't know what's happened since the days that I set this up.
I'd like to not need the Zelda cartridge to boot the Gateway menu.

Follow 3ds.guide/get-started then follow https://gbatemp.net/threads/tutorial-using-luma3ds-with-gateway-on-v2-a9lh.431691 to re-enable your Gateway card (optional).

You can but it isn't recommended. You can't update if you use Gateway with sysNAND or you will brick. Every time there's an update you'd have to remember to boot into Luma to update to avoid bricking. If you use an emuNAND you can update that in Gateway mode fine.

Thats no problem. I mainly use Luma, i only need Gateway for Extended Memory Games to enable cheats.

    Thanks, that is helpful!

So... how do I set up a Gateway emuNAND? Last time I did that was on firmware 4.1.0. How do I do it from 11.2.0 with A9LH? Is the setup just the same, or do I do something differently?

You can create one from emuNAND9 or from the Gateway menu.

Yes it is. I haven't heard from any ban that was caused by using the eshop with the latest Version and a9lh.

How do I get to the Gateway menu? I tried the Blue card method and that didn't work. I tried the go.gateway-3ds.com web method and that didn't work.
Apparently both of those methods are now patched... I've searched around on the internet and I can't find any indication on how to do this from a newer firmware with A9LH installed.

    EDIT:
    This guide
    https://gbatemp.net/threads/tutorial-using-luma3ds-with-gateway-on-v2-a9lh.431691/
explains how to boot into Gateway Mode or Menu from sysNAND and you can setup an emuNAND on a blank SD card from there.

Why does the guide link to a specific previous release of SafeA9LHInstaller? Specifically v2.0.3

I think it's because that Version worked without Problems and also OPTLess was build into the tool and also the latest Version but the guide uses the old method because of the bricks with otpless the older Version works better/only because there isn't OTPLess implemented.

Save games are stored on the SD card of your console, the SD card in the cartridge is only for storing games.

    Somewhere, out there...
I thought I should post this here because it has to do with Gateway and I would really appreciate some help with this:

Hi guys, I could really use some help with a situation... I posted this part yesterday:

    "Ok, I am worried...

I read in another thread that using Gateway can lose/erase A9LH. I followed the Palect guide to install A9LH and Luma, but later removed my EmuNAND because someone in another thread a while back said EmuNAND is no longer needed with a A9LH/Luma setup. I still use Gateway and I still have A9LH/Luma installed on my N3DS. I am also on FW 11.2 I think. Should I be worried/concerned about losing A9LH? Thoughts and help GREATLY appreciated..."

My question now is should I go ahead and create another EmuNAND to be safe? If yes, can someone please walk me through going about doing it? I removed previous EmuNAND because someone in another thread a while back said EmuNAND is no longer needed with a A9LH/Luma setup. Now, I hear it is recommended to do have an EmuNAND. Clarification and help greatly appreciated on all this :)
