After the controversial release of the Mega Man inspired Mighty Number 9, and the middling title ReCore, it seems that developer Comcept has been running into some financial concerns. And company Level-5 has bailed them out, purchasing Comcept, and making them one of their smaller developers, with a team of 15 people. This ensures that their upcoming title Red Ash will release, and that perhaps Level-5 will begin funding Inafune's junctures, rather than Kickstarter.

I backed it too, but when they released it I said, "Well I'll just wait for the 3ds versions since I've waited this long..." so, yep, still waiting. I feel like they should just offer the 3ds backers a download code for their second choice of platform at this point. I mean, I know I'm not missing much, but I'd at least like to get what I paid for...

My guess is that Megaman has became an spiritual entity, and he'll take revenge on anyone who despises him or his classic series of games.

AFAIK, nope.
Level 5 does, e.g., the Ni No Kuni series for Sony consoles mostly.
But it is true that most of its games release in Nintendo consoles.

Not sure if acquiring a company with terrible PR and image is a good idea, though.

They can use their own image for the matter.
Mighty nº 9 had huge potential and market as well.
A sequel done correctly can change everything.
Level 5 has resources, artists and anything for Inafune to do his best,

He's been a "shadow of its former glory" once he left Capcom. It's probably the biggest mistake of his career.

I agree with the first sentence, but as he said, and I think we all agree, "Capcom is a shitty company".
Leaving Capcom wouldn't be a problem if he actually knew what he was doing.
He has terrible notion of how to run a business, he also choose poorly the artists for 3D models.
Now he has the perfect chance to redeem himself, I seriously hope we see something good from him
