Oops, opening it isn't going to be that easy, I thought there would be a screw under the sticker on the bottom but there isn't.

So this one, essentially the same card with an upgraded default kernel, also won't cut it? I tried flashing it, without success.

Most of the manufacturers obfuscated or encrypted the actual code running inside these carts.
Sometimes a .nds file is available to flash upgrades, and the code can be figured out by reverse engineering.
In the most nasty cases, there is a signature check inside the card and writing is only possible with proper signed firmwares.
Even if the writing process is reverse engineered, we still can't inject ntrboot without nuking the card :(
