Just heard about this, found out that it's somewhat old. However, doing some Google searches, I keep finding stuff about accessing a browser through the Shop Channel, not what I want. Anyone here want to help me out?

you can use the internet to find .wad files of all WiiWare games. you then use Wad Manger to install them on your Wii. they work just like they would if you bought them through the Shop Channel. no need for WiiPoints.

illegal BTW.

You just put stuff onto your Wii without having any knowledge of what it is or what it does? You're just asking for a brick doing it that way.

Quick question, is this Brawl SSR?

Second, I've had a hacked Wii for months and months, and nothing has ever gone wrong.

The hack you're after probably doesn't work anymore. But it doesn't matter since wad manager is a superior solution in every regard.

It was fake. It never existed. It was a hoax.

And besides, even it was true, you would be ripping people out of money they spent for points that they cannot use. (Same thing can be said towards the developers if installed via Wad Method).

You wouldnt like it if you spent money on something only to have it already been used and not redeemable. Products of that type cant be returned or exchanged.

It wasn't fake. My friend uses it. Anyways...I downloades IOS51 for the Wii Shop Channel, (I'm running on 3.2u) and whenever I access the the Shop Channel, instead of bringing me to the channel page, it just brings me back to the Wii menu every time.

(I would pwn you, n00b, but your grammar's good.) .wad files are direct rips of the files installed on your wii from the shop channel. The wad manager is an application designed to install those files from the SD card to the wii. The .wad files can be found on google, but I would check that your sites are reliable, as wad installations can result in bricks. Sorry if that sounds a little complicated.

There are people who were/have worked on ideas similar to this, and it is somewhat possible, the Shop Channel downloads files from ninty that we already have the keys to decrypt, assumably, lets just say I won't say any more because I doubt anyone working on such a thing would want to talk about it, but as the gentlemen here said before above is most likely what you will want to do if your "friend" isn't willing to tell you how he does it.

Nope, don't own or play brawl.

And while that is true that nothing seriously can go wrong from having Wad Manager, I was merely saying that installing things without knowing what they do can cause problems.

And while I do actually condone piracy and I have an argument against what I am about to say...I will play a devil's advocate role and say: So it's okay to steal from a developing or publishing company but not okay to steal from an individual person? Just because they are a corporation doesn't make the theft any less of an offense.

And yes, the Wii points generator, to the best of my knowledge, never existed... It was a scam/hoax from the beginning.

Edit: Fixed my italic coding.

One thing that just occurred to me.... The sound on the 2600 sucked less back then the harsh sound we hear now is from infinitely better speakers we have now, back when the 2600 was new speakers produced a almost muffled sound, like CRTs made old graphics look slightly better.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I wonder if I could recommend that to some emulation devs that perhaps the sound could use some smoothing out to simulate those old TVs
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I think a few of the early systems could benefit from that, at least up to the 8 bit generation, by the 16 bit generation I think TVs had gotten a lot better in almost every way
