Hardware Is it safe to polish the 3DS top screen?

I want to remove the scratches that the bottom screen of my 3DS did to the top screen, but I'm unsure if polishing will affect the 3D display.

Also, is there any risk when polishing the 3DS/DS's touch screen?

I'd rather use screen protectors in daily use of both screens. And if you're completely paranoid about it, polishing screens cause small and thin scratches..

Until I buy screen protectors, I'm using adhesive furniture strip... things.
No bottom to top screen contact whatsoever. Looks kind of funky, but meh. Better than scratches.

How to Clean the System Screens
Description:
Step by step instructions on how to clean the Nintendo 3DS Touch Screen and 3D Screen.

Important Note!

• Do Not: Use any solvents or cleaners of any kind
• Do Not: Submerge the system in water or other liquids
• Do Not: Pour water directly on the screens

What to do:

1. Slightly dampen a soft, cotton cloth with water ONLY and wipe off the Touch Screen and 3D Screen.
2. Using a dry portion of the same cloth, wipe the screens dry.
3. Using a loop of transparent tape, dab at any remaining dust or smudges.
   • Repeat steps 1-3 if necessary.

Unless you're not trying to polish it with rocks.

Just get a lint free cloth, dab it with a drop or two of Birth by Sleep's female protagonist, and just buff away.
