Okay, the latest waves of PSP firmware have literally swept me up and overwhelmed me. I'm thoroughly confused as to what I might want to consider using right now. What is the best CFW for PSP out now that has similar features to Prome-4? Things that I'm interested in keeping are irShell and RemoteJoyLite, I run ISO and CSO, and if there is a way to allow connection to the PS3 without issue I'd really like to know. (Mostly for the Welcome Back package games, but easy access to the free DLC I've once downloaded is great too.)

If anybody can enlighten me, I'd be very happy to learn.

Also, I have a Pandora Battery and MMS setup, and know how to use them properly, so I can always fall back on Prome-4 is either something goes wrong or I like it better.

I was just about to post the same thing. I'm looking just for CFW where I don't lose ISO compatibility or plugin compatibility. And hopefully with MS speedup. It took LittleBig Planet 3 minutes to load on my PSP.

The only person who can decide this question is you. Do you need something that your current firmware doesn't have? Are you having problems with games or homebrew? If not why the need to update?

I have a non TA88v3 Slim. I'm wondering if I should upgrade to neur0n's firmware, or the pro firmwares. Which has better game compatibility?

I'm kind of wondering the same thing. Been kind of out of the scene. I'm currently on 5.03 Prom-4 and wondering if the upgrade will be worth it.

If the newer games will require me to upgrade my firmware then maybe I should. And then there's wondering if this firmware still has compatibility with PSX games.

EDIT: Okay, looking over the article, yes it does... but will the newer games require me to upgrade? And will this need an ISO loader? Or am I just better off sticking to Prom-4 for now?

The only Pro CFW that has the MS Speedup are the B7 nightly (i.e. alpha/beta) builds, which should only be used on a Pandora compatible PSP because they might cause bricks even though they are not permanent (unless you use the 6.20 permanent patch).

The newer games probably need to be patched if you are using Prome-4, but they should work clean on 6.20 PRO-B6.
And no, PRO-B6 does not need an ISO loader, as it comes with the Inferno driver for loading ISOs already (along with the other older drivers of course).

It does not have the MS Speedup though, which is what the original poster was asking about. Only the highly experimental (and dangerous if you don't have Pandora and a nand/idstorage backup) B7 nightly builds do.

Oh, ok! I did not see ragingchaosgod, whom I was replying to specifically, mention that he was looking for it though. Still I suppose that was relevant, considering how he's using 5.03 Prome-4 which has MS speedup as well (according to my google search). In any case thanks for the extra info!

Edit, after xist's post below: Oops. Probably read it wrongly.

molh394 - Of older CFW's Only 5.00M33-6 has the MS Speed Boost option. It remains to be seen how Neur0n's implementation compares to Dax's, although i don't know how Dax obtained his benchmark results.
