    Sounds like the competitive scene just isn't for you then. That's a scene not so much focused on having the most fun possible, but instead focused on winning at whatever the cost (so long as nothing is technically considered cheating). So you move into finding exploits and properly understanding the larger meta game. I'll admit that this kind of stuff can be a deterrent from online gaming for me, but local multiplayer with your friends is always a blast, and I do like how online modes are often the driving force in becoming a more skilled player in the game of question. Plus, in this age of patches and updates, the most unbalanced of fighters can easily be more balanced with the push of an update.

    I had so much hope for arms being great for competitive play, but playing and watching ranked matches is dull and boring. A good competitive game is fun to watch, that's how big esports games gets its money by having a large audience. So if a game isnt fun to watch then there wont be as much companies that will sponsor the tournaments because the viewer turn out would be so small. It can still be a niche competitive game but I doubt it'd be relevant for long. Competitive smash, mortal kombat, tekken, street fighter, splatoon, overwatch are fun competitive games to watch but the average competitive arms battle is so boring to watch as the majority of the battle is the players dodging left and right or just spamming left hook and right hook repeatedly or the grab spamming... like theres a lot of things mechanically that are bad about arms too like how you arent able to effectively hit the players when theyre dodging a lot, you are unable to hit them because of how the automatic camera doesnt allow you to punch where theyll be only where they were at the moment you let the punch out so if they spam dodge theres not much you can do, basically you are able to read your opponent but you cant punish them for doing anything because of the way the camera and attacks work. Also who thought it was a good idea to make all charged elemental attacks do the elemental status effect 100% of the time!? It shouldve been about 40% effectiveness when charged and then if you charge it for longer the percentage of the status inflicting should go up. And then again, another problem with the camera is that at times its too slow, a person could dodge to the left and I already knew where they were going but there was nothing you are able to do about it because the camera isnt fast enough to turn to their direction to be able to punch and stop their grab. Its still fun casually when playing locally by all means but I'm really sad to see that it really didn't turn out to be all that great as I hope it would be initially.

    Watch =/= Play

    But yeah, ARMS can get pretty boring since its gameplay is very repetitive and dull. ARMS isn't meant to be new, original, unique or how future fighting games should be made but rather the Mario Kart of fighting games.

    mario kart of fighting games, mario kart seems fairly unique...? unless I'm missing a whole bunch of them somehow and the sonic and all stars racing is ceartinly not as good in my opinion at least

    Ninjara actually isn't a high tier character, he's just able to grab-spam well.

    Arms is a fantastic game I have been playing it a lot lately and the more you play it the better it becomes. At first go, it seems quite basic and boring but then it sort of comes into its own the more you play it and when you get really good at the fighting techniques the game gets really interesting! I have been using Max Brass a lot since the new update and hes a really good fighter to pick and that's also a very good point about the game free dlc I suppose!.

    I agree that Mario Kart is unique whereas ARMS isn't.

    Between Dragon Ball Z: Ultimate Tenkaichi and Pokkén Tournament... Pokkén is the better rock/paper/scissor game.

    I appreciate that arms removed special moves from the genre. Doing so puts more focus on the player's ability to anticipate their opponent's movements and react accordingly. The delay it takes an arm to retract also prevents button mashing from being a viable strategy as well.

    Ninjara isn't as op as you make him out to be. As a hardcore ninjara player I have found myself foiled by figgin Ribin Girl and her spamable jump so many freakin times.

    Where were you going with this reply? Of course watching and playing are two different things I never implied theyre the same, I own and played the game and both watching and playing competitively is boring as heck

    i would say that this will be soon fixed as there are allways mplayer games which has balancing probs at first.
