I had just sold it and was updating it for the buyer, but after I okay'd the update completion, I get black screens when I turn it on. A long time ago I put al9h on it, and had the custom firmware on system nand. It was working fine until I updated it. Somebody save me... I'm pretty sure al9h is still working but I'm working to figure out the shortcut for it.

edit- I will spell it like that until I reach the grave.

edit- I still get the little screen flash it does when you first press the power button, still don't know what the shortcut key is...

The only thing you have to do is take the arm9loaderhax.bin from this: https://github.com/AuroraWright/Luma3DS/releases/download/v6.5/Luma3DSv6.5.7z and put it in root then go into FBI, copy arm9loaderhax.bin, press b, press CTRNAND and paste

Why are you linking him to an OLD version of Luma, when 6.6 is the latest? He needs 6.6, not 6.5. Sure it might work on 6.5 but if you're gonna update Luma you might as well update it all the way.

@Odven whenever you update your OFW, the first thing you want to do is update your CFW. Because you didn't, you got the black screen. Update your Luma to 6.6, not 6.5 as suggested above.

And why are you intentionally misspelling a9lh? You even know that you're misspelling it but insist on doing so. Wtf is armloader9hax?

Okay so I've taken the armhax and it loaded up Luma3DS v6.6 configuration. Is there anything I need to do for the configuration? I don't recall this feature.

Otherwise, yes it did load up the system nand, so it should work like before, correct?

From the guide: https://3ds.guide/updating-a9lh
Section III - Configuring Luma3DS
  1. Boot your device while holding (Select) to enter the Luma3DS configuration menu
  2. Use the (A) button and the D-Pad to turn on the following:
    • “Autoboot SysNAND”
    • “Use SysNAND FIRM if booting with R”
    • “Show NAND or user string in System Settings”
  3. If you are using a New 3DS, you should also enable the following:
    • “New 3DS CPU” to “Clock+L2(x)”
    • This will increase the framerate of many games, but may cause instability in others
    • If some games do not work properly, disable this option and try again
  4. Press (Start) to save and reboot

arm9loaderhax
named by the exploitation of flaws in the 3ds's arm9loader

arm is an architecture/or a part of your body
