My switch is on 2.1.0 and I need to keep it that way for the future. So when I try to put in my SD card it tells me I need to update but I don't want to for potential Homebrew. How can I avoid this?? The SD is an sdxc Samsung 128gb.

Only the first time you use an sdxc card. 64gb and up iirc will be sdxc. Lower capacity cards will work without the updatedoes this happen anytime you use a new SD card? or is it only below a certain FW?

Nope, SDHC only supports up to 32 gb.Pretty sure 64GB is still only SDHC.
