MACpass

Change log (v2.0):
*Edit Macs in app window or txt file
*Enter Windows cmd prompt commands in app window
*Customize cmd prompt commands in app window or text file
*Toggle off virtual miniport restart when not using Windows 7/8
*Edit cooldown time (time between network reset and virtual miniport restart)
*Countdown timer, run custom number of macs at a time

This is another mac changer to aid in the homepass phenomenon. I know we already have a couple of these, but this one has some nice features that the community has been asking for.

So without further delay, I hereby introduce:

Kinda simple looking I know, but its easy to use. :P

Features:

·Customizable mac list in txt form
·Saves cycle progress, delay time, and random mac list to file
·Pausing
·Random by default (unique list order per user) for more consistent hits
·Simple gui interface (thanks tkinter :P)
·Low CPU overhead
·Open source in Python
·Stand-alone Python distribution

Any questions, concerns let me know. Just be reminded that this is beta software and to go easy on me. : )

Edit: This only works with Win 7/8 for now.

what version is your 3DS on? I remember hearing somewhere that the way Streespass Relays (which are basically the thing that allows homepass to work) work was changed in version 9.3 and later that required some different settings.

Gambia, The
Virtual Router and MACpass do the same thing behind the scenes.
The former enables ICS, thats all.

And here is where things get chaotic. Reasons why you don't get a streetpass:

- 3DS can't connect to your Homepass Wifi
- 3DS doesn't get a working IP from ICS-DHCP.
- 3DS can't access the internet properly. Firewalls misconfigured, if any?
- You use the wrong Wifi-Card to swap MACs, so you try to StreetPass on an unpopulated MAC - yours.
- Your hardware just can't do that.

Don't know if Snailface still monitors this thread, but still stopping by to give thanks for ending my days-long frustrations in setting up Homepass, also referencing this post by JRave. All attempts with every other listed Windows method failed miserably.

I like MACpass' simplicity, yet it's mostly configurable enough for what I need (and of course, it's the only thing that has worked). The only issue I've had is that upon starting or switching MAC addresses, my network adapter doesn't start properly and I have to disable and re-enable it every time. Can't seem to figure out how to revise the program to do that for me, so for now I just wrote a simple bat file that does it automatically on a loop.

Using an ASUS USB N-13.

Yeah it works great but it's the obvious Ds factor you loose from it it's not like playing atari games on atari because Nintendo actually use to give a reason to buy their hardware

Can't be that far off from it not like ds requires super hardware
  • HiradeGirl @ HiradeGirl:
@K3Nv2 I did that using Citra for 3DS games. Bottom screen was my smartphone. Until I got the touch screen.
