After updating the HBB to the latest version 0.3.9c, the super-cool music has stopped playing.
No amount of checking/unchecking the setting in the app, nor editing the "setting_music" in the settings.xml file will get it to work.
What's even more strange is, the app will recreate that file after every run! I've tried deleting "loop.mod" from the "apps/homebrew_browser" directory, and transcoding it to an MP3, as well as an OGG file. In every case, the music did not play, and the 92KB "loop.mod" file was re-added to the SD card every time.
Can anyone help?

Same issue here, my HBB stopped playing the background music after one of the 0.3.9 updates (was a long time ago and could have been prior to the "latest" 0.3.9e). I completely deleted the HBB folder off the SD card and extracted a clean copy from the Wiibrew website, to no avail.

Here's a very late reply and an easy fix :)

Download the latest version Homebrew browser (v0.3.9e) http://www.codemii.com/download/
Convert the loop.mod to an .ogg music file for free here http://www.zamzar.com/convert/mod-to-ogg/
Delete the loop.mod from your sdcard and copy loop.ogg in it's place, pop your sd card into your Wii, load up Homebrew Browser and tadaa you have music again :)
Reason why this works is the latest version of Homebrew Browser supports .ogg files :)
