Appears to be region free. Street date does not appear to be for over a week and MS does seem to be on the warpath (maybe not banning wave again but early games do not impress them) so do as you will.
The latest in the hitman series and the first in several years actually (apparently there is even a novel due out in a couple of weeks time to bridge the story). The past few years have seen IO Interactive make Mini Ninjas which was fairly well liked and Kane and Lynch which got incredibly mixed reviews/opinions (usually between panning it as hard as possible and calling it an amusing distraction). The trailers that have been released have made it seem as though it wants to be hitman but with all that high end games in 2012 have to offer which could work as the games were held back a tiny bit by limitations of older hardware. Whether this means a departure a la splinter cell or a game praised by all remains to be seen.
Pre order bonuses are many and varied between locations and a "professional edition" also exists so expect DLC at some point.
