I haven't seen it mentioned yet, and don't know if you know, but you shouldn't be installing Wii IOS to your vWii, Modmii wasn't meant to be used with a vWii.

additionally, your Wii U mode may quit taking updates if you patched any of your vWii IOS 80 and lower.

So even if Nintendo does release an update for the Wii U that includes updates for the vWii, there may be a chance that neither of them accept updates anymore. This could mean problems for your Wii U in the future. If you just bought this console then you would return it as soon as possible.
