Hi guys and girls

This is my first attempt hacking the wii u.

I have succesfully hacked the vwii. I have tried the usb loader GX and Wii Flow

The Wii Flow works and I can see the games of the external 2.5" hdd. I use a y cable.

But when I try to load a game the screen goes black. I have tried using the 249, 250 and 251 all with same result.

Any ideas what could be wrong or if I have made a mistake with the Hack

Run sysCheck and post the log here. http://www.hacksden.com/downloads.php?do=file&id=149
This will tell us if there's anything wrong with your cIOS setup. 249 should be using IOS base 56, 250 using base 57, those have the highest compatibility.
I saw that you used d2x beta53-alt-vwii, this version has lower compatibility with HDDs AFAIK. beta52-vwii may work better for you. The difference between them is that beta53 works with either of the back ports, beta52 only works with the top port as the main one.

Yeah. It was flipped, the Wii sign flipped... Just compare the picture to the wiiu
But thats a shit excuse because they're physically quite different.
Anyway, that's not the point. Just don't give advice to people if you clearly don't know what the fuckb you're doing. Your advice would have led to a brick

Sorry it was version 52 I used :)

That all looks fine, so IOS isn't the issue.
It could be any number of things, so I'm going to need more details.
Did you launch the loaders directly from HBC? (just to rule out issues related to the forwarder)
Which drive are you using? Some drives are known to have compatibility problems with USB loaders, especially USB 3.0 drives IIRC.
Which games did you try to play? Maybe you're trying to run a bad dump.
Also make sure both loaders are up to date. The latest USB Loader GX version is here: http://www.mediafire.com/download/gmomw40pwa4aswa/R1246.7z and the version that can be found on the official download page isn't the latest. WiiFlow I'm not sure.

Thanks for the assist.

My usb loader GX goes black on startup.. So will check the version.

The loaders runs directly from the homebrew channel.
the 2.5" drive is a Hitachi 5k750

Yeah, I remember when I used the old USB Loader GX I was using my Wii on my Wii U, it didn't work, but I used a newer version and it worked! I also had problems while letting USB Loader GX detect my USB, which port did you connect your USB to?

It's certainly sounding like your drive is just incompatible with cIOS.
You haven't answered all my questions yet though, I can't track down the issue unless you do.

You can try this USB Loader GX version (use the 249 one from the archive) it will use IOS249 in the loader itself to list the games instead of (I think) IOS58.
I'm not sure about this though. Cyan might be able to shed some light on it.

it freeze at the init screen, or tell you "drive not found, passing into channel mode" ?

freeze at init screen is a strange bug and I don't have a fix yet.
It affects usually WiiU (but users had issue on Wii too) and only new drives. (maybe they have encryption option, and need more time to init)
I'll work on this issue after adding neek2o.

Which questions are you refering to?

I tried the first usb loader GX you refered to. - It loads the HDD after I used another enclosure

It starts now and does not freeze in black startup.

I can see usb loader have found the drive and writes how much space there is etc. but does not list the content.. it only lists the content from the SD card..

content from the SD card?

look in the top menu, 4th icon.
You can enable Wii games, GC games, Channel on wii, channel on emuNAND.

it doesn't "list the SD", unless you have gamecube on SD and that's what you meant.
maybe "wii game" is just disabled.
