Hi so just to give some background, I used this guide to soft mod my Wii.
http://gbatemp.net/threads/how-to-s...backup-wii-gamecube-and-wiiware-games.360687/

After downloading Dio Mios and loading it on homebrew. I followed the directions as followed in the video for Dios Mios but forgot about making sure if i was in ios 249 before downloading dios mios. Now I cannot load USB Loader GX, Wii Flow or any other loader for back up games. I cannot even access the HDD from my wii. I also did a system's check and will post below in the spoiler.

Ive looked around the internet and it says to re-format the sd card and re-download everything, i need a more specific problem diagnosis before I do so.

Not sure how much this will help, but personally I've never gotten dios mios to work in the first place. Could you please elaborate as to what you mean as to being "In cIOS 249"

On the guide that I used, on the 5th step (5th Video) which is to play newer wii games and game cube games. I finished the whole video and directions without noticing a note that the poster put under the video. "Important: At 3:30 in Video (WiiMod) make sure in 'Wii Mod' to install IOS249[56]-d2x9b47.wad before you install DIOSMIOS. After you installed IOS249-d2x goto Main Menu of 'Wii Mod' and select 'Change IOS' and pick 249 . Look in Main Menu right corner it should stand 'Current IOS: 249 . You want to install DIOSMIOS to IOS 249 as you will be playing your gamecube games and wii games from 249."

Normally you install DIOS MIOS over MIOS, not to an IOS, I don't know what that guide is trying to do if it says that.

I think what they ment is to change your IOS to 249 before downloading it, not use 249 itself to download dios mios. Does anybody know what I can do and what to delete from my SD Card. Please check my system log to see if i downloaded all the IOS's correctly.

If I'm correct there is no reason to change cIOS period. Homebrew should do that on an on app basis. DiosMios goes over a MIOS file, not a cIOS. Usb loaders on the other hand RUN and LOAD GAMES off 249. When you patch a cIOS the patch is specifically on that cIOS., I believe the wii itself runs off cIOS 58 or 59.

So i understand the fact that what you are trying to say is that homebrew should auto detect and automatically patch the correct cIOS. and in the video they manually patch and update the cIOS before loading and installing Dios Mios.

After i finished all the steps in the guide, i tried using usb loader or wii flow. All i get are messages that say i need a certain cios and once i learn how i should return. or I get a DSI Error and it says it must load then returns me to the main screen. Googling this problem people say I need to reinstall Usb Loader GX and get a new version or reformat my SD card and redownload the cIOS because something might be missing.

Based on the system log, what do u guys think my next appropriate step should be?

Ok sorry I was still stuck on the confusion with the cIOS. Just go through this "Checklist" if you don't mind
1) Can you still run homebrew off your SD? If yes move on to 2A. If no go on to 2B
2A) If yes, I would recommend first making sure your USB Loader GX is updated to the newest version (Not much of a wiiflow fan myself.) After move on to 3 if problems aren't fixed.
2B) Just re-format your SD and start over, I would recommend not following that tutorial you used. Move on to 4.
3) Your going to want to re-install cIOS 249. It seems to me like your problem is there or with Dios Mios.
4) If I remember correctly this is the tutorial I used a long time ago, and it worked perfectly. I'm on system version 4.3u, and if you want to use gamecube games as well, I highly recommend Devolution over Dios Mios.

Dios Mios has nothing to do with your ios but more so your Mios slot. You install your Dios Mios wad
for using your Usb drive or Dios Mios lite wad for using your SD card with a wad manager such as MMM. Using cIOS such as 249 is just what your telling the USB loader to load when loading the app and a Wii game. You need a certain usb loader gx version to run GAMECUBE games, I personally use Wiiflow

mrsaturn110 : Unless he is using or has his own physical GAMECUBE disc than Devolution is a much better option but I don't think he does because there would be no need for him to want to use Dios Mios.

This is true, I would agree with all of what you are saying. I would agree there is no reason to want to use Dios Mios if you have your discs.

Ive heard Dios Mios is incredibly picky and hard to set up. I do have physical Game Cube copies. But ive been trying to play back up games from my library i collected and ripped long ago that no longer are physically alive, (R.I.P. half my library)

I have Opted to reformat my SD card and start from scratch and avoid Dios Mios. If there is a better guide that is updated for playing GC backup games that would be much appreciated. I'll keep u guys posted on how this goes.

As far as I'm aware there isn't another way to play gamecube games backed up without Dios Mios or Devolution.
If you still have all the games you want to play, re-ripping isn't that difficult using CleanRip on the Wii and your computer.

So ive just reformatted the SD card, and redownloaded USB Loader GX onto my Wii although USB Loader and Homebrew Channel are still there. Followed the instructions and the USB Loader GX finally opened without that annoying black screen with "Exception (DSI) Ocurred!

But shortly after the black dcreen came back with the words Reload on the bottom of the screen. What to do?

Hm. Haven't heard of this one. What version of cIOS 249 are you using?

This could also have to do with your USB, it's possible it was plugged into the incorrect port.

Only Wii Flow works, USB Loader GX does not load the games for some reason.

Haha for me its always been the other way around, because I first had USBLGX installed, then installed wiiflow, my wii flipped out and would only load from wiiflow then. If you would prefer run USBLGX, I'd recommend deleting wiiflow and all its config files then re-downloading USBLGX and running it.
