Hi All,
I have been looking everywhere for a HDDSS.bin for a 1TB hard drive to put in an Xbox 360. I understand there is no official Xbox 360 1TB bundle, but apparently the Xbox One uses the same hard drive security sector as Xbox 360. There have been 1TB Xbox One's available for a while now, so i'm surprised that I still can't find a 1TB HDDSS.bin anywhere?

Also, from what I have read online a RGH console can run with any hard drive model, but if you want to run the stock dashboard at any point (e.g. Dual NAND) you need to have a hard drive with a valid security sector. Is that correct?

Thanks for any help :)

That's external.
Not internal.

You don't need security sectors for external HDDs
No joke. That is stated in the article.

It's a moot point and you would have seen that if you had bothered to read it.

When you are telling people about modding their consoles, it would be a kindness to tell them about new developments they may not be aware of, even if it makes old forum threads pointless.

Some people don't want externals connected to consoles.
If they ask about externals being used for save games/game installs, I always tell them that it's possible.

I know quite well what I'm talking about.

Thanks for the info, but I am really only looking to use an internal drive on my Xbox 360.

I'm still looking for a 1TB HDDSS.bin, haven't seen one appear online yet :(

I have even been contacting Xbox One spare parts sellers in the hope one of them might have a spare 1TB Xbox One hard drive they could sell me, but no luck so far.

I'm pretty sure that the biggest internal HDD for the 360 will remain a 500 GB one.
The Xbones don't use a security sector.

Upgrading an Xbone HDD from 500 to 1TB is a completely different process.
