@xcdjy: I never said I wasn't a hipster kid. I know that, in a way, I am one, because I love bashing other hipster kids. Not at all important though. And it doesn't change the fact that those people could also be hipster kids. Also, in a way, I AM better than the majority of people.

@jalaneme: Well, as ojsinnerz already said, the only valid argument is the storage space, although my point was that with expandable memory, you can have as much as you like, whereas with iPods, you're stuck with what you have (which is already quite a bit of memory, but you can never have enough).

@.Radiant: That small increase in quality between 320 kbps MP3's and lossless audio formats is what I love. And I can hear it just fine. There are always some artifacts in the music with lossy formats, and I can hear them. Thus, I prefer lossless, even on a portable player. And, I mostly use my Fuze when I'm doing nothing, like sitting in the bus, which allows me to fully concentrate on the music and notice all details. Of course, I listen to music when I'm walking in the streets, too, and I know I won't be able to hear the details at all, but I just keep the lossless files on there for whenever I can actually use them to their fullest (or at least, almost).

I mentioned it because they ARE hipster kids. And the connotation of your post was that me being a hipster kid was actually important, though it seems you didn't notice that.

Also, Ellie, do a blindtest and a few other tests. It's almost impossible for a person to actually tell the difference between a lossy and a lossless on a portable device. It's usually the brain tricking your ears, making it believe that it sounds better, because yourself already knows that it's of better quality. Hell, even with a top tier headphone, I still can't hear a difference between lossy and lossless.

But with a blindtest, you should be able to get an unbiased result. And make sure the audio files are ripped with LAME MP3 encoder at V0 setting. AAC is fine too.

EDIT: Oh, and what equipment do you use? Just PM me, because I don't want to take this any farther than this post.

Guild, thanks for the review. Please know that any time Apple is mentioned the snooty will come out to play, on both sides, and they are very very silly.
