Fixed IP is the best thing to do.

Uhm, you need to have the disc ID (SLUS or SLES etc) in front of the game name iirc.

Ok, thanks. I have GTA III v1.60.

Also, how do you setup he network in OPL 0.9.3?
It shows the PS2 IP Address, but on SMB it says:

Address type: <NETBIOS>
Address: <not set>
Port: 445

Share: <not set>
User: <not set>

-

What do do and how to set it up correctly?

EDIT: Pressing O does nothing to show the games.

Follow this tutorial.
That should answer everything nicely.

Hmm I'm sure the IP matches, but I gave the PC an IP in IPv4 settings, do I need to set it back to automatic where it was?
I'm using router method.

And also, you use your PC's IP, and not from the tutorial?
I'm using my PCs IP one.

Explanation of the 0.9.3 network config screen : https://bitbucket.org/ShaolinAssass...9.3-documentation-project/wiki/network-config

And no, you don't need to name your games as <game_ID>.Name of your game.iso anymore.

Using a router ? => DHCP + NetBIOS is recommended setting.

Using a crossover cable ? Static + IP is recommended.

Thanks. I did this with my PC and stuff, but when I press O for the games list, it just doesn't work, nothing, no error, just nothing.
What did I do wrong?

Did you enable SMB ?

Settings > ETH start mode > Auto ?

Are you stuck on the menu screen ?

Ah, I didn't know that, thanks.
The game list is empty though :/

The HDD that I use network shared driveletter Z. There is a folder called PS2SMB and I have
SLES_503.30.iso in it. Just that one game so I can test.
I actually renamed it before you told me you don;t need to lol.
It was Grand Theft Auto III (Europe) (En,Fr,De,Es,It) (v1.60).iso before.

Did you share correctly PS2SMB folder so it can be accessed over the network ?

(btw, rename your iso to avoid trouble... OPL is still able to read old syntax so if it detects the game_ID with no name after, I think its problematic - not sure, never tried)

I share the whole Z drive, there is the sharing icon next to it. I'll check the folder aswell now.

EDIT: Do you also need to set the ETH prefix path?
I saw that in the settings aswell. It's set to <not set>

Did you also create a DVD folder in PS2SMB folder ? You need to drop your *.iso in it.

Like this :

Z:/PS2SMB/DVD/Nameofyourgame.iso

i reccomend you to get another pc and try to access that folder using other pc
by using file sharing, windows doesn't allow you to share files if you do not set a password to login. you need to edit a registry key for it (i don't know each one)
i know that i was never successfully sharing a folder on windows without a login
not sure if you will have this issue or it's relevant here, however i reccomend you to try to access it with a second pc

by account you mean username and password right?
i am talking about in case the computer doesn't have a login password...
i tried several times to setup a file sharing and check every single option what prevents the accessing... i end up frustrating and set up a windows password to fix it...
several weeks ago or months an user in here (gbatemp) told that i needed to edit a registry key to allow file sharing without having a password on login

Yes.
I don;t have a password for Windows to login, is that the problem?

EDIT: When I shared the folder, it shows \\Nick-pc\ps2smb2

HOW in the world does that happen, now the path is all wrong?

No, only username, I have no password. I never edited a registry key or something to get it worked. That's weird...

Edit : are you sure your folder was correctly shared ? (ie not password protected) That could explained your issue.

Yes.

According to me, no.

Nah, don't worry, that's normal. Issue is elsewhere.
